I'm in college so I'll be moving around a lot the next couple of years and was curious if it would be better to get a cable that might be longer than I need right now...but I might need the extra length later. Would the extra length hurt the performance significantly?...I'm looking at 8 meters right now. Commit the cable to memory and head out to Radio Shack Get your desired lenght of Satellite coax (for better sheilding) Y-cable and the required adaptors to turn the coax ends into the desired male and female ends assemble and Presto! I gotta get a digital camera to explain this better Other folks will chime in as well! Also you may want to look on ebay for some good deals.
