jefnel1
I have a Pioneer Elite VSX-36TX that has two switching and one unswitched 100w outlets built in. Should I plug my tape deck, cd player and cd-r deck into these outlets for better remote control? The receiver runs very hot already. Can it handle the additional power load? I currently have everything plugged into a Monster HTS2000. Any thoughts?
Derek
The reason the reciever runs hot is the heat put off by the transistors. Amps usually run about 50% efficency, for every watt of power you are running you get a watt of heat. 120 volt power through a switched outlet will not have any effect on heating, except for a very tiny amount created by wire resistance. jefnel1
Thanks for the information. Would you suggest that I use the outlets on the receiver or stay with the HTS2000? Is there a difference?
