archibald Posted January 3, 2002 Share Posted January 3, 2002 Magnolia HiFi has a package deal that matches two SP1's with SC5 and two SS5's. From reading several posts and the information on this web site, it seems that the SP1's should only be matched with SC1 and SS1's. How much difference does it make to match the speakers and should I not even consider the package then and try to get the matching speakers separately? PhilH Posted January 3, 2002 Share Posted January 3, 2002 archibald: Although the SC-1 and SS-1's would be a better timbre match, I believe the package you are seeing is put together to be a lowest cost, value one with subwoofer(s), also designed to take up minimal space. Try to give it a listen with both the SC.5 and SC-1 if possible, preferably including a demo of a scene that pans the same sound across all 3 fronts.
