Help! KSW-10 with a mind of its own...

My subwoofer has gone out of control...

For starters, if I plug in the subwoofer and turn it on with no input or signal even plugged in. The subwoofer chugs away randomly firing, if the level is turned up 2/3 it will bottom out!

If I send a signal, I can feel a weak output even with high volume levels and still the sub continuously firing randomly.

It used to work great with no problems.

I doubt there is any need for it but my setup:

Yamaha RX-V1000 receiver.

RF,S,C-3

and the ksw-10.

What is wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Stu

Did the sub work well before?

If you changed the volume often with the gain knob on the sub itself it could be the gain that is faulty.

If not the gain it could be the amp section(amp/crossover plate).

My Sunfire Mark II started doing strange noises after a year.I was using the gain on the sub too often, now I have to keep the sub at max to stop the strange noises and cutoff(now I always use the pre/pro to change settings).

After the tech changes my gain pot I will be fine.Know it may not be your problem, just the signs are similar.
