damonrpayne
My new toy, Integra DTC-9.8 pre/pro http://www.integrahometheater.com/model.cfm?m=DTC-9.8&class=Separates&p=i and the first review http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/processor-receiver-product-reviews/ssps/integra-dtc-9.8-thx-ultra2-7.1-ssp.html I can't pick it up till Friday, I'll be doing my own review of course, but all signs point to "sweet". I'm not sure how I feel about the Audyssey; room treatments are the best option for this, but then again it might fix the lower-mid-range drop in my Cornwall center. This will be a fun toy. Guest " "
I was surprised to see the XLR outputs. Onkyo makes very good equipment. I have what used to be their flagship reciever, the TX-NR1000, and still have the TX-DS989, also used to own the TX-DS939.
DoubleJ
Damon: Stereophile has a review of the DTC 9.8, combined with a review of the Oppo DV-980H, in the January '08 issue. They say..."For a modern Multichannel Preamp-Processor, the Integra DTC 9.8 sets the bar with it's unique combination of talent, performance, and value"... damonrpayne
It's good to hear good stuff, but honestly I don't trust stereophile one whit. My Aragon 2005 doesn't have XLR in, maybe it's time for an amp upgrade!!
dougdrake
Damon - I, too, have been watching this unit and the Onkyo Pro 885. What made you choose this over its cousin from Onkyo?
damonrpayne
One of the reviews I read stated that, after taking both of them apart, there are definately different components such as beefier power supply, in the DTC-9.8.
