Tabasco
Hi all, For a future investment, I'd like to know what is the best: should I start with RF-3's and add a SVS-Ultra later, or should I go for the big guns and get RF-7's without a sub? My room is apprx. 12x27 feet. I only audienced the RF-3 (and SF-2), so I don't know how the RF-7 compares with the RF-3, especially with bass. Bass is very important to me. My budget for an amplifier is limited to 1000$. thanx,
Kain
I have heard that the RF-7s have very good bass of their own. They can go low and hit hard with their clean, crisp, accurate, and non-boomy bass. This is all according to what TheEAR has said. In my opinion, you should go with the RF-7s as their detail, accuracy, slam factor is all much greater than the RF-3s. ------------------ Home Theater: Display: Sony VPL-VW11HT LCD Projector Receiver: Harman Kardon AVR 8000 DVD Player: Sony DVP-S9000ES Center: Klipsch RC-7 Mains: Klipsch RF-7s Surrounds: Klipsch RS-7s Subwoofer: SVS CS-Ultra w/Samson S1000 amplifier This message has been edited by KAiN64 on 01-20-2002 at 06:51 AM
Kain
As for the receiver, since your budget is $1,000, I would go with the Denon AVR-3802. ------------------ Home Theater: Display: Sony VPL-VW11HT LCD Projector Receiver: Harman Kardon AVR 8000 DVD Player: Sony DVP-S9000ES Center: Klipsch RC-7 Mains: Klipsch RF-7s Surrounds: Klipsch RS-7s Subwoofer: SVS CS-Ultra w/Samson S1000 amplifier
Guest BobG
RF-7's have great bass that is tight and detailed, but they do not compete with a subwoofer. If bass from 20-80 Hz is your passion, you will need a subwoofer.
