avman
if they are shielded, you can put them right next to it, if they distort the color on the tube, move them away, turn the tv off for about 10 mins., and turn back on to de-gausse. ideal placement is as far apart from each other as you sit from them. avman. ------------------ 1-pair klf 30's c-7 center ksps-6 surrounds RSW-15 on the way!! sony strda-777ES receiver upgraded to v.2.02 including virtual matrix 6.1 sony playstation 2 sony dvpnc 650-v 5-disc dvd/cd/SACD changer dishnetwork model 7200 dishplayer satellite receiver/digital bitstream recorder sony kv36xbr450 high-definition 4:3 tv sharp xv-z1u lcd projector w/$22 vinyl pull-down window shade 'screen'-rough side out Bello'international Italian-made a/v furniture panamax max dbs+5 surge protector/power conditioner monster cable and nxg interconnects/12 gua.speaker wire KLIPSCH-So Good It Hz! WMcD
My experience is in line with avman. I've moved non shielded speakers, and magnets, close enough to a CRT to distort the image. In one case of a computer monitor restarting it did not clear the distortion. However, after a few restarts, the problem did go away. I have some Sony speakers which are shielded, I looked. These had no affect on a Trinitron even though I tried to induce a problem. So, you should not have a problem. If you do have a problem it can be cured as AVM describes.
