scoote69
Im considering 2 av123 mfw-15's but would love to hear what others suggest in the same price range (under 2k). Room is 16x23x10. 90% HT (movies, tv and games) 10% music. Thank you.
Jay481985
Basically anything that can dig deep and loud without distortion since the 83s are good down to i say 30 hertz so you want to get a subwoofer that can dig deeper.
Canadian_Dude
If you can go an extra 200 bucks you can get these: http://hsuresearch.com/products/uls15dualdrive.html. There is two of them an they are both wireless too! And they are supposed to go as low as 10Hz depending on room configuration.
TheEAR
Two MFW-15's are probably a best bet for the dollar. The sealed HSU's you pay double for roughly the same output,sealed... However the HSU has clearly superior extension, the MFW's are tuned ~18hz ,the HSU sealed has extension that belongs in the reference class(at the cost of output, that BTW is still very satisfactory..based on my experience with JL's). For me a great sealed sub over a great ported sub, extension is better. And if one fails, two will do,.. and so on untill I have the desired SPL. scoote69
Thank you for your thoughts. Are you saying a single hsu compares favorably to 2 mfw's or that 2 hsu's compare favorably ?
