wsu99999
I have a Swans Sub-250 amplifier - it's a plate amp and I think it's rated at 150w RMS. What would be a good 12" Woofer to match with it? I know I could use just about any, but I want one that will be optimal with it. The box I have is about 2.5 Cubic ft I think it's 18x18x14. What would perform best. Th anks for your help
TheEAR
In a sealed box ~2.5 cu ft. SoundSplinter RL-p 12" ,superb driver. WOrksgreat in very small boxes, top SQ. CSS SD12,very good driver for this box. Mach 5 IXL 12",another winner, more beefy than the SD12...more Xmax, higher BL.
wsu99999
So Ear - will both of those subs perform well with such low wattage?
TheEAR
150W RMS ,this unit should at least deliver 300W on peaks(when needed),enough to get plenty of these drivers. I would use ~500W RMS amps to get more out of the drivers, but 150W is enough to get plenty loud. Also depends of your listening habbits and expectations. A single 12" drivers cannot do miracles. Here a ported cabinet is a near must,as the single sealed 12" will not move enough air to be of much worth when going below 25Hz.
