Promedia 5.1 died...

I was hoping this wasn't going to happen. I called a Klipsch rep before pulling the trigger and he assured me it was not common, but sure enough after a few months of owning them they went. The previous owner told me he barely used them, well who know but they seem to be in mint condition, packaged them with utmost care...

...anyway, all of a sudden while watching a movie they made a weird sound and went. The sound was like a power down of sorts... it sounded like a sound effect for some sort of Sci-Fi gadget. Then nothing... I can turn them on, funny enough is that the same noise happens each time. The speakers and woofers seem to be in perfect condition... nothing on the boards looks burnt or otherwise damaged...everything looks stock. So I am guessing some sort of electronics died... a board of some sort... that's my HUMBLE guess...

SO: What are the common problems? What should I check/look for? Would you guys want me to upload the noise for you to hear for diagnostics? Should I upload pictures?

BTW... hope this is the right section!
