I also read elsewhere where the amp in these subs puts out only 55 watts rms. Whats the difference between these two measures, and, are they both correct? PhilH Posted February 26, 2001 Share Posted February 26, 2001 PaulE The 55 watts is a continuous figure and the 225 watts is a peak figure. This means that the amp in the KSW-10 (and KSW-12) has good dynamic headroom (+6 dB) allowing the sub to play significantly louder when needed (such as an explosion or cannon blast in HT). The best spec to look at in a sub is output in dB and it takes approximately a doubling in amplifier power to increase output by 3 dB.
