kmijeski
After getting my HT setup tweaked just perfect, I may be buying another house in the immediate future. The place in the new house for an HT setup is a very large room (20x30 feet.) Due to the design of the room, I cannot set the system up in the middle of the room, it will need to be over to the left side a little. Question: Should I place my WDST surrounds on the rear wall (about 10 feet behind the listener- in which the listener would be right in the middle of the soundstage from front to back) or attempt to place them on side walls (Where one speaker would obviously be closer than the other to the listener)? Any comments suggestions are appreciated. This message has been edited by kmijeski on 02-03-2002 at 09:14 AM
RobCurran
According to Dolby , the preferred placement is to the side of the listener, not the rear. But I've seen surround speaker placement to the rear from other sources, so who knows. Leave the back walls for your rear center channel speakers (7.1 baby!!!) ------------------ A/V AMP: Yamaha DSP-A1 TV: 29" Sony Trinitron DVD: Toshiba SD9200 CDP: Denon DCM-370 MAIN: Klipsch Heresey II CTR: Klipsch KSF-C5 REAR: Infinity SM-65 (crap) SUB: Infinity BU-1 (crap)
