Hello all, long time lurker looking for help.

I am replacing a denon 2803 to update the system and looking to hear
any thoughts on people's experience with some of the newer receivers
and this or a similar speaker set.

To give you an idea of my price range I am currently looking at:

Onkyo 606, 705

Denon 1909

Pioneer 1018

Current Speakers:

Fronts: Klipsch RF 3-II

Center: Klipsch RC 3-II

Rears: Klipsch SB-1

SVS 20-39 PCi

Other relevant points

Panasonic 50PZ80U

I usually watch movies at or close to reference level

Will have a second zone being used - may just use current receiver though

Harmony tablet remote

Using 1 HDMI out to the TV - though I plan to have everything (PS3, cable and PC) sent via HDMI to the receiver.

I use the setup primarily for movies but do enjoy music as well.
Currently CD audio is piped through my Yamaha DVD-C920 which has burr
brown dacs. I am looking to limit my components to the receiver, PC and
a PS3 so I want to box up the DVD which means no more burr brown for
CDs as I will now rely on the receiver dacs only.

I have been thrilled thus far with the sound of my current set up
though I have considered the 2803 just a hair on the bright side with
this pairing to give you some indication of my listening preference.

ANY insight and information is greatly appreciated as I have been reading reviews
for weeks and have given myself a deadline of tomorrow so I can stop
over analyzing everything and just make a stinking purchase!

Thanks ahead of time for yout input

The onkyo is a great HT reciever if you go with Onkyo I would suggest getting the 705 opposed to the 606, little more power in the 705 if irecall. Th x06 line has switched from burr brown dacs to cirrius dac suppose it's a matter of choice. The 805 i have is great for HT use good for 2 ch listening at higher levels, may be just me but seems the LFE channel is a bit off. As for the denon and pioneer couldn't tell you much only have experience with some 2 ch recievers from pioneer which seems to pump out some decent 2 ch listening.

The Pioneer you mentioned is essentially the same one I have. Honestly, I only have one complaint about mine. The remote doesn't light up. But I have a Logitech that takes care of that problem. I honestly don't think you could go wrong with the Pioneer. I can't remember the model number of it, but the cheapest Pioneer Elite receiver is only about a hundred bucks more if you can cough up an extra hundred...........................
