Jay Registrar
I am currently running two small JBL 2500 through an inexpensive Technics receiver plugged into the computer. What small Klipsch speaker would work well? The JBL's are about 12"Hx 8"Wx 6"D., so I don't want to go too much bigger due to space constraints. Thanks in advance for your input! tommyboy
What's yoru budget?
Jay Registrar
Well tommyboy I hadn't thought that far ahead. Those JBL's I use can be had for $25 + shipping on ebay, and they are a pretty good little speaker. I just thought that maybe Klipsch makes/made a small bookshelf speaker. I have Corns and Hersey's, so I am familar with the line. Thanks
Moderators Amy Posted November 28, 2008 Moderators Share Posted November 28, 2008 The RSX bookshelves will likely work well. What is the power output of your amp?
Jay Registrar
Hi Amy. You made me go to a file drawer for the answer. 25 watts. This stereo receiver is from 1980. I'll check out the RVX. Thanks for the reply.
Jay Registrar
How about SB-1 bookshelf, or KG 1.2 bookshelf ? Thanks
tommyboy
If you can still find them, the SB1 is a great little bookshelf! I used a pair for about a year.
tommyboy
I don't know much about the KG's......
Moderators Amy Posted November 28, 2008 Moderators Share Posted November 28, 2008 Both of those should be fine. You wouldn't want to get anything much bigger with that amp. I haven't heard them side by side, so I can speak to the differences. The RSX-3 are the speakers we used with our iFi system (which I love). Jay Registrar
Well Amy, no doubt they would be awesome, but the price is more than what I want to spend for this. Both speakers now are within 4 feet of me and you know I own both Hersey's and Cornwall's. Incidently, I put one pair of Corns on two different pieces of furniture (different heights) and left one pair on the floor. Certainly enhanced the sound of having both on the floor. Jay Registrar
Thanks for the input. I bought a pair of KG 1.2's off ebay. I have never heard them, but if I don't like, I will sell. Life is good
