  1. If you're worried about someone spilling stuff on your coffee table...err, subwoofer, try bolting titanium plating on to it. That said, my personal experience with both subs in question is this: For musicality, the RSW15 is wonderful, and still has some punch. For brute force, you've got to get the PB2.
  2. When I go in to Tweeter now, and see the Klipsch-less display, I am quite happy that I already have my RF setup, else I'd be quite pi**ed. I do not go in to Best Buy often, because I dislike it, top to bottom, but when I have been in there, I've noticed much the same thing you all have: It sucks to even try to get a feel for what something in there sounds like, and the HTIB stuff is complete and utter crap. Unfortunately, the crap sells. Just like the famous $29 DVD players in Wal-Mart at Christmas. One of my acquaintances at work can not comprehend why I would have paid even the internet price for my main speakers (RF7's), or why I'd even contemplate paying $999 for a DVD2900, when I could "get a whole setup" for $300.
  3. I have a couple of issues here: First, the room itself is not great, acoustically. I do not have much choice in the positioning of the TV and subsequently the center channel, and in the position that it is in, the center sounds very..........narrow(?) My other channels come pretty close to resembling the fullness you get in theaters, while the center, to which most of movie sound is directed, falls a bit short. I do not doubt the speaker itself, as it is an RC7. I have it set +5 to the mains (RF7 pair), and it's actually closer to center listening position by about 2 feet. I am experimenting with higher settings than this, and with listening to the center with everything else turned off, to get a feel for how it is performing solo. It just seems a little weak, compared to what I have heard from the same speaker in other systems. As additional information, I have no rear center currently, and another RC7, if not great as a dual front center setup, could be moved to the rear, and I would not be out the money I spent; I like music played in 6-channel stereo, so the bigger rear center I have, the better. It's wierd that I have this problem.......the RC7 is only about 9.5 feet from the center listening position, and is being driven by an independent 200W amp.

Get ready for the DVD. From the sound of this thing in the theaters, it is going to take your subwoofers and pound the crap out of them. I can not WAIT to find out how my PC Plus 20-39 takes it.
  5. I am using a 6.1 processor, with external mono amps; Due to room size, I want to add an extra center channel speaker, and an extra pair of rear surrounds, using a "Y" adapter inline with the analog cables to the amps to accomplish the split. I am curious as to whether or not this will create a noticable drop in amplitude of the signal, or if there would be any other unwanted effects. I presume that the input impedance of the amps is sufficiently high that the signal would not be degraded, but I wanted to get some opinions before making any purchases. If it will work, I'll be adding another RC7 to the center (with another amp to drive it), and another set of RS7s to the rear (or, most likely, the sides, with amps to drive them, as well). Any one have any input on this?
  6. They're right, take your own stuff, and take over the volume control from the deaf sales person. The humor of this is not lost on me. Just the other day, I went to demo an SACD/DVD player. The sales person put a disk in and turned it up, marveling at how good it sounded..........then I realized that what he had in there was a CD...........
  7. Thought it would be nice to have the warranty directly through Klipsch, most of my speakers come from www.acousticsounddesign.com They have been more than helpful in all ways thus far. Also, if you plan on making multiple purchases, you can get free shipping on your second if you post a review (including a run-down of your experience with acousticsounddesign.com) of your first product on AudioReview. It's not quite like going to Tweeter, but, then, you're not paying 2.2K for a set of RF7's there, either.
  8. It was BlueJeans Cables....thanks very much........ To continue, does any one know how they stack up in performance vs BetterCables, Monster or possibly even the Outlaw Audio cables? My first need is a new set of Component Video cables. 1M should be sufficient, but at the price of the Blue Jeans cables, I might go 6 feet to allow for changes in placement.
  9. I'm trying to remember the name of a manufacturer of cable interconnects (yeah, yeah, my brain must be rattled). They are competitive with Monster on price, sell only online (as best as I can remember) and they are not BetterCables.com. That is about all I remember........If someone can rattle off a few names or websites, I'll probably remember it. Thanks
