  1. I will be partaking in that purchase. Thanks for the heads-up.
  2. Saxxman, one humble suggestion if I may be so bold. If I were you I'd swap places with your left front and sub so that both fronts are equi-distant from your tv and balances out your L+R's better. Doesn't really matter to your sub that much and it'll help your front sound stage a bit. Experiment and see! Looks like a fun setup ...
  3. I think Picky said it best. Those little damn dogs are annoying. They want to be classified as a dog, but they're just a big rat with a voicebox. Blast away. Oh no offense to YOUR little dog in particular though.
  4. Foxman, good clarification. My statement about your ears being the best was that despite what a meter will tell you, your ears are ultimately what determine if you like your setup or not. So I agree with you in the fact that if you are only measuring SPL then yeah, look to the machine. I still ear it though when matching dB output on all my channels. Maybe I'm just retarded.
  5. Dawg, one thing I noticed with my Denon, and maybe its the same with your Pioneer, is that I have to turn down my center and fronts in order to compensate for the quiet surrounds. So in the individual channel settings I have my fronts at +4db, my center at +6db, and then my surrounds are cranked all the way up to +12db ... as far as it'll go. That seems to help in my setup. I think the best SPL meter is your own ears.
  6. Colterphoto does not mean any disrespect when he was talking about your HT. He's actually looking out for you in that he wouldn't want a fellow forum friend to spend big bucks on an RSW-15 just because people told you to. You would be very happy with the RSW-12, especially if its been awhile since you've had a sub. But I like all the other comments in this post and you can never have enough power. Better to drive them at 30% on the RSW-15 then at 90% on the 12. Colterphoto is a great member here in the forum. He didn't mean any insult at all. Don't sweat it!
  7. Since size seems to be the issue, I would recommend a Bose system. Nice small footprint and great sound. Forget all this gigantic horn stuff. It's for the birds ...
  8. Looks like the freq on that little guy is 63Hz-20kHz. Crossover is at 2200Hz. It's not bad.
  9. YGMN ... I do realize that Garden State wasn't a movie for sound. But there were little subtlety's in there that added to the experience. I've got Gladiator and have witnessed first hand the great sound from that movie. '******' was also another fun sound movie and pretty much and other DTS 6.1 movie. JOHNYHOLIDAY ... My center rear is a KSF C-5. Got it for my first HT back in 1997 and at one time it was my center channel. It's a decent little speaker and adds just enough to get some nice ambience as a rear center now. Not certain what the freq range is on it, though if the Klipsch site wasn't down right now I would have looked it up for you. Now you have me curious ... I bet the 2 speaker 'rear center' sounds amazing with Cornwalls. My brother has his setup that way, though I think he's just using some little speaks. Cool stuff ...
  10. Just watching a movie called, "Garden State." I'm noticing some really cool ambient effects coming from my rear center. I know lots of people don't like to call this speaker a rear center, but whatever you think of it, it kicks butt. It really makes a difference. I have mine setup right behind the couch and it adds just the right little subtelty. Anyone else notice this?
  11. I should say that I have not ever heard a really high-end Yammy with Klipsch. Maybe I'm missing out?
  12. Both are great receivers. If you're running Klipsch speaks though, you'll sure wish they're powered by Denon over Yamaha. Unless you like piercing, screeching highs.
  13. Thanks for the reply Tim. It's always hit or miss with the C7 on ebay. Like you say, its decreasing in supply and increasing in demand.
  14. I too am looking for a KLF C7. Sounds like you had some good luck on ebay. Were there any others?
  15. Is the U2 dvd DTS encoded? What other concert dvd's can you compare to? Is it comparable to: Eagles "Hell Freezes Over" Eric Clapton "One More Car, One More Rider" Peter Gabriel "Growing Up Live" Sarah Mclachlan "VH1 Storytellers" What league we talkin' here?
  16. What will be replacing the RF-7 as the next flagship? I'm not even talking about Heritage. One could easily argue that the Klipschorn was and always will be the flagship. I'm specifically talking about the Reference line replacement. What is it? When will it be coming out? Any specs yet?
  17. You must be playing Doom 3 or Half Life 2, no? If any of you gamers out there haven't experienced Doom 3 with the Promedia 5.1's you are missing quite a thing. I've never been so jumpy playing video games before. The sound is unbelievable...
  18. Welcome back Lance. How was your hiatis?
  19. Irregardless of what you think or not, its not anyone's right to take someone else's problem and make a new post out of it and try to change the facts of the case. This isn't a personal attack on Dodger or the community. It was a direct insult for him to try and answer for me by making a post that totally paints the illusion for everyone that Klipsch was completely innocent of the deal. That's all. It's nothing personal to you guys.
  20. You're a weird duck there dodge. Did you not understand that Klipsch was aware of the problem the whole time? Like I say, you're trying to jump into something here that you have not been a part of. I appreciate you trying to be a Klipsch hero here and all, but please, you have to have all the facts. You said that the forum wasn't the reason for Klipsch fixing the problem. Well, actually the complete opposite is true. Had not certain people in this very forum not intervened things may still be going on. I'll lend you a shovel for your next post ... PS I'm not telling you any of my personal stories.
  21. Dodger, what are you doing? This is not your situation, and it is none of your business to be thanking anyone for me. You don't have any clue what is going on behind the scenes here. Please take the reservation of moving your own posts from now on. Who do you think you are anyway? I'm not going to let you make light of this situation, especially how it doesn't involve you in any way. The negativity in this situation is mostly UE's responsibility, but Klipsch is not completely innocent here either. Their reps knew about my situation almost from day 1. So thanks for making light of my 4 months of pain. Really appreciate it.
  22. Dodger, nice point and I see where you are coming from. Klipsch isn't totally innocent here however, because even though in the end they took care of the painpoint, they still saw it going on for 4 months. In the end Klipsch is still billing UE for the subwoofer, they just got the ball rolling. So thanks for the suggestion, but I think this thread in its continuation makes a very valid statement. The point for the thread isn't to candy-coat things for new customers, its about a customer that got jacked for 4 months. It's also a warning for existing and would-be UE customers.
  23. Colter, that is a night and day comparison to the fools that run the store here. It really didn't used to be like this, its just slowly gone downhill over the years. I wish I could get that kind of treatment that you get at your store there. My UE store here has had a huge turnover rate. There are new employees all the time too so you never really build and sort of client customer relationship at all. Sucks@!!!
