  1. My Cornwalls have never created a wider higher deeper soundstage than when I followed the Golden Triangle formula as described here: http://www.cardas.com/insights/index.html When situated ideally, the fronts of my Cornwalls are 5 feet away from the back wall. Unfortunately, my listening room is not large enough to accomodate situating my speakers that far from the walls while still keeping my wife happy so they generally have to sit in a less ideal position. Regardless of how the soundstage was achieved in the studio, proper placement of the speakers will take advantage of all the imaging the sound engineer was able to create with his mix.
  2. You never know. I found my Cornwalls at a yard sale for a hundred dollars. Now if I could only find a dusty old tube amp ,,,
  3. Thanks for the replies re: dating my Cornwalls (and for the actual date). I would like to give them a nice rubdown. First I will have to strip them though I bought my CW's at my neighbor's yard sale. (Yes, I got them for a song). The tweeter diaphragms were shot so I have had those replaced. I believe they must have been from a theatre installation. They have no bases and have a black utilitarian finish. The grills appear to be homemade. The fronts of the cabinets are flush and the grills are attached to the front with velcro. The grills do not cover the ports at the bottom. They sound awesome. Big soundstage. I am driving them with an Onkyo TS-DX575x. I am also using a David D-Box 300 subwoofer. Apologies for my previous post. I don't know why it showed up blank.
  4. Can someone help me date my Cornwalls. They have the serial numbers 11R231 and 11R232.
