Colin..If your interested in the newer smooth jazz..try some artists and bands like ...Fattburger...The Rippingtons..Craig Chaquico...Jeff Golub...Return to Forever...Just to name a few...
These are pretty much Guitar oriented... But... there are a lot more bands and artists out there...
I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one here that listens to, and apreciates this music!.....

I know this is gettin away from the original question...but ...back in the mid 80s I did some recordings of the band I was playin in at the time...with My Teac X1000rbl..(using DBX noise reduction and EE tape and two mics )...and the playback of the tape sounds Just like the place we were playin'..If you Close your eyes ..you could swear you were there...(klipsch speakers help)
Sa far as I'm concerned ..that is the goal of music reproduction... to sound like the original performance...
There are vinyl discs that can sound like the original...and there are CDs that can do the same thing...
I guess its a matter of preference...

Have you ever heard of "Jeff Golub" or "Mark Antoine"?? they're a couple of Contemporary jazz guitarists... I don't know what kind of music you normally listen to...but ...give them a try!

I'm sorry to hear the Cubbies lost... I really wanted to see someone put the Yankees in their place and what a better team to do it........the Marlins were a bought team...the Cubs made it through sheer sweat....and that counts for a lot IMHO.....

My 20 year old son ..is being deployed to Irac in Jan. to relieve the 3rd or 4th I.D.
He is part of the 25th I.D. stationed in Hawaii....
