I regularly receive the Jazz Collectors Newsletter email and I thought this is good to share. (No affiliation with sellers, hope the quote is alright with the Jazz Collectors) Quote: "A few weeks ago on eBay the seller Anthonypearson2 had a two-day auction of more than 500 vintage jazz LPs. It turns out that all of the records come from the estate of the late Leon Leavitt, who passed away about a month ago. Leavitt was a widely known West Coast collector/dealer who ran jazz auctions since at least the early 1970s. When he died he left behind something on the order of a quarter of a million jazz and vocal LPs and Pearson is working with Leavitt's family to sell them on eBay. Pearson is not looking to publicize the collection, but he wants everyone to know that the records are being sold on auction only, so please don't try to contact him for individual items. Our advice is to be patient and keep watching eBay: Pearson says he hopes to list about 1,000 of Leavitt's records each month for the foreseeable future. He said some Jazz Collectors are concerned that he's flooding the market. I say, keep 'em coming: Wouldn't you much rather see these records available to us eBayers than just sitting in a warehouse in Burbank? I am pretty much a Klipsch newbie, that's why I underestimated the size of these Cornwalls. I've read many good things about these Cornwalls here, and they match my Heresys so I decided to get them pretty much on impulse. The owner I bought it from in LA said they are all originals. There is a story that follows these speakers from owner to owner: "They were originally owned by MeatLoaf." I know nothing about these drivers inside, that's why I posted all the detail photos for people to see. If any veteran can identify what the drivers are, I would be happy to add them to the description.

Upright they cover part of the big screen, on their sides they cover a little bit of the bottom of the TV. I'll put them up for sale on Audiogon on Monday, try to get back my $1K investment.

I got these Cornwalls for a week now. Unfortunately these beautiful Cornwalls are just too imposing in front my entertainment center. Upright they cover part of the 100" diag screen. As much as I love to keep them, I can't. I will be putting them up for sale this coming weekend and stay with my Heresys all around. I'll post photos of the Cornwalls this weekend after the Thanksgiving festivities. Happy Thanksgivings to all.

I bought these Cornwalls and will pick them up this weekend. I have a pair of Heresy of the same grill style for center so I want to match. Cleaning the stain off the grill will be tough though. I thought the price is fair at $1000.

I'm a newbie looking into using the upcoming Panasonic XR70 digital receiver with 3 pairs of HeresyI for HT. Someone on AVS Forum reported that using 2 identical Panasonic XR45 digital receivers to bi-amp his speakers result in more headroom and better sound all around. Is it even possible to bi-amp the Heresys?

I swapped from a Fisher X100 integrated to a Sony 9000ES/Perreaux amp, using different speaker cables and still hear the cracklings so I think the speakers are at fault. At modest to loud levels the cracklings are very apparent. I didn't have time last night to mess with the speakers.

I'm a realtive newbie. The serial numbers seem to be a 1982 Heresy I, is this correct? Anyone knows what type of drivers and crossovers are in these? I'm really interested in getting this pair for HT. I got a pair of 1985 HeresyII Signature on eBay last month and I'm having problems with tweeter/midrange crackling. I got a pair of 1985 HeresyII Signatures on eBay. At low volume, it sounds ok but when cranked up, I hear the cracklings like high freq breakups, so I'm suspicious of the tweeters being blown. I swaped from a Fisher X100 integrated to a Sony 9000ES/Perreaux 6-ch amp HT combo with different speaker wires and it's still crackling. I searched the archives to find more info and I want to open up the speakers to check each driver by disconnecting the taps from the crossover. But the back panel does not have any screws except for the 4 holding the round plate for the speaker binding posts. There is a groove between the back panel and the cabinet along the edges. I opened the round plate and see some components on the the other side of the round plate connected to the binding posts. I tried to put my hands in the round hole and pull lightly but did not see the back panel moving. Is it possible to open the back panel to get to the crossover? Thanks for your help, Phil
