  1. If the mounting of the tweeter on the back of the face is a problem, Mr. Klipsch got it wrong on all the Klipsch's I ever saw.
  2. Here is a pic of them in the room. The large cabinet to the right is were the electronics and disc are stored. The flowered thing in the corner with the granite feet and top is my JL Audio dual 8 ohm sub (about 500lbs total). Homemade dual bandpass box, 1.25" MDF,tuned to 30hz. Onkyo amp powers it with both channels to the dual voice coils. It will shake the brick walls on the outside of the house. I have an Onkyo for the home theater power and a Scott 299 (a) for the two channel listening. I had planned to keep my Sansui speakers for the HT but after hearing the Lascala's, I will be installing an A/B switch so I can use the Lascala's for both HT and 2 channel. There are no words to describe how impressed I am with the sound of the Lascala's. Unbelievable is as close as I can get.
  3. Hard to believe they sound better than they look. Picked them up Thursday night. Oiled one Sat. morn. and the other Sunday afternoon with one part boiled linseed oil and 2 parts mineral spirit. They were used in a church for about a year. Only fair that I thank God for blessing my home with them.
  4. They won't need them, I only have 17 watts per channel.
  5. I knew what I wanted, I just had to wait and find them. Today, I did! A pair of Lascala's. Model LS BIR 18 S/N LSBR-9944001 AND 002 They have the cloth over the top horns. They came out of a church. Lightning hit the church and the Ins. co. paid for a whole new system. As they installed the new system they discovered that the Lascala's were not hurt. The Ins. co. told them to keep the money and the new speakers. It was a small church and the speakers were place behind the choir. They had problems with feedback. After about a year, the installer switched them out for a smaller set of speakers place between the stage and the crowd. They were happy. The installer kept the Lascala's and he was happy. I happened to find out about the pair and brought them home tonight after only $1100 changed hands. They are almost exactly like brand new. The only thing wrong with them is that the tweets don't. A couple of new diaphragms and they will be my dream come true. I am so very happy. Can I get an AMEN?
  6. Thanks Greg. I called three of the four nearest dealers to me,(klipsch's dealer locator) and got messages that the number was no longer in service or that I dialed a message only number. I finally got a live person at the fouth dealer. I am praying that this works out. A church was struck by lightning and the Ins.co. cut them a check for the whole works. After replacing everything, they discovered that the Lascala's were not hurt. The Ins. co. said "don't worry about it". If I have been praying for a set, would it be too coincidental if a church comes through?
  7. What are a new pair selling for? What if they are about 1 month old and only used 3 or 4 times? Raw birch.
  8. Earlier in the week I called him twice and got no answer. I was going to offer him $500, site unseen. I was planning on a nice 1000+ mile ride down with my son and an even longer ride back. (in a hurry to give them a listen) Congrats and have fun. I know it will be worth it. I will just have to keep looking. My day will come.
  9. I am interested. Any guess what shipping to North Louisiana would run?
  10. Yes, that is what I was looking for. I saw a set of LaScala's that were LS BR. What was throwing me off was they were stained. I want a list so I can tell if the finish is original or not.
  11. Could someone please post a guide to the model numbers. I have the serial number guide.
  12. It's kinda like when a friend of mine asked what I was going to be playing on my Scott299a tube amp and Lascal's (when I find them). "You aren't going to be playing that digital s""t". I replied no, I would record them on reel to reel and play them back just so I could look cool.
  13. I would like to know anything about LaScala's with the following serial numbers. IC065, IC061, IC063, L0073. How do they compare to full cabinet LaScala's? Are the components the same. When were they made, etc. If they are worth buying, I will be powering two of them with a Scott 299a. That's if the check ever makes it to Chad and the amp ever makes it here. Thanks.
  14. I live in Ruston La. and have been looking for a set of Klipsch speakers nearby. Day late as usual.
