  1. I would like his contact info. I love the price. Thanks
  2. I'm looking forward to picking up and connecting my new (used) cornwalls on Saturday. My question is should I spend a bazillion dollars on MonsterCable speaker wire, or is there some generic equivalent that will give good performance. I'd rather spend the money on DVDs, but if I have to, I have to. My daughter can wait one more month for braces Any advice is appreciated. mjc
  3. I am going to bid and hopefully get these speakers. Thanks for your consideration and assistance. By Jan 1, I hope to have my 5.1 system back in play. Happy Holidays
  4. Assuming I can get the backs off prior to purchase, what should I look for in the cabinet? Is the PWK symbol enough information? Is there anything else I should inspect? Thanks.
  5. Klipsch Gurus, I am near a purchase of a pair of cornwalls (picture attached). The "type" is CD BB and the serial numbers are sequential 7N 816, 7N 817. I have a few questions: 1) Can you tell the mfg date from the numbers? What is the year and how do you tell? 2) The woofers in the two speakers are different. I've been told that the woofer was replaced with a Klipsch woofer. Why do they look different? Am I just being paranoid? 3) Based on the answers to (1) and (2) what would be the value of these speakers. I understand the cabinets have a few knicks and scratches in them. 4) What is a ballpark cost on a new Klipsch woofer (if I need one). Thanks much. I am getting back into Klipsch after ten years of listening to speakers of much less quality (but that's a story for another time). Mike former and soon to be new owner of cornwalls.
  6. I have a line on a pair of 80s vintage Cornwalls and late 70s vintage La Scalas. I have a Yamaha 5.1 receiver from the mid 90s to power the speakers. Questions: which speakers would you use as fronts/rears? What about recommendations for Center and Sub speakers. Also, are there any "technical" issues I need to be aware of when wiring all these different speakers together? I used to be good at this kinda stuff, but stereo and HT technology has left me in the dust. ALL comments are welcome and appreciated. Thanks

  8. Barretts home electronics in Aurora now sells the full line of Klipsch products. The entire heritage line is made to order (K-horns take 12-15 weeks according to one salesman).
  9. Partaymon, I've sent you two PMs and an email. Are you still out there? I am very interested in your speakers. Please email me if the Klipsch are still available. Thanks mjc
  10. I am building a HT. I have the chance to get a pair of old La Scala Speakers for ~$1,000 (in good shape) and I am soliciting opinions on whether these speakers would be better than a new pair of RF7s. Either set would be used as my primary set of speakers to be matched with a center and surround speakers to be named later. All thoughts/opinions are appreciated.
  11. I am finishing a basement where I will eventually have a home theater. Being a huge fan of Klipsch-former Cornwall owner ('81), I want to create an HT around a Klipsch infrastructure. I have a decent receiver (Yamaha top of the line from '98 with Dolby 5.1), a new Mitsubishi 65" rear projection HDTV and a Sony DVD-R, which will get me by for a few years. All recommendations for speakers (fronts, center, surround, subwoofer)are appreciated. Since Tweeter lost the Klipsch line, there are no convenient places to go listen to speakers. Besides, no time either. Any "lessons learned" or "dos and don'ts" out there with respect to building an HT are also appreciated. Budget is $3K or less and I listen to music 50% and watch movies 50% of the time. Thanks mjc
