  1. I sold my RF-7's to my son to help finance the Klipschorns -- and I'm certainly going to enjoy having them. However, within a year I plan on having another set of RF-7's sitting right in front of the Klipschorns. It will be interesting to see how the new drivers (Atlas) used in the current Klipschorn fare against the pristine sound of the titanium driver used in the RF-7. My guess is that the HF smoothness of the RF-7 will trounce them. I hope the new drivers and crossover help the Klipschorn treble -- because I'm not exactly thrilled about the K-77.
  2. Uh George...The RF-7 weighs almost twice as much as the RF-3. One UPS guy can easily lift an RF-3. The same UPS guy will be rolling it end over end to get it to your front door. If one or both do show up damaged -- you'll be in for a nightmare, and may not end up with a set until June.
  3. The Webmaster would be forced to "ban" the offending "side" of you. This of course would be good news for you -- as you would then be completely healed!
  4. Well, if truth must be know, I HAVE hugged the loon -- but he's waaay to ugly to even THINK about kissing.
  5. Let it go. Merry Christmas Edmond.
  6. Yeah Maron, but at least the combination makes good music. Selling this other stuff should be jailing offenses.
  7. No doubt. The choices seem almost endless. Hey, I like biasing my amp -- it makes me feel like I actually KNOW something about this stuff.
  8. Amazing. Not one single recommendation for one of the best built, best sounding decks Sony ever made. Shameful.
  9. Craig may have to add warning labels to his biasing instructions for liability reasons. "WARNING! Placing tongue between probes of the multimeter and biasing points will cause unusual brain activity. Also, under no circumstances work on your NOS Valves Scott amp while taking a bath."
  10. I may just buy a 200wpc power amp, turn the volume up as high as I can -- and then run out of the house. I'll come back in a couple of days, and I'm sure things will be broke in plenty.
  11. LOL I dabbed our brand new, silver-saturated, hyper conductive contact lube on the AC plug of my $99 boom box. Then I dabbed it on every plug and lug of a $100,000 dream system. Stunning results on both! For 3 cents a plug, violins gained a gloriously sweet sheen. Delicate acoustic guitar overtones stood unveiled. The scream of over-driven electric guitars cut through with extra edge and punch. Floor beams shivered with the new impact of contrabass, organ and tympani. Silclear is the first-ever silver contact lube optimized for good sound, not thermal conductivity. The secret is microscopically thin silver platelets (a millionth inch thin; 8 square feet of surface per gram!) to enhance beneficial skin effect. The unique binder for these platelets is an ultra-pure, low dielectric absorption, food-grade grease to minimize signal loss/smearing. The thinnest possible coating lasts 10 to 20 unpluggings. Comes in a 14-gram jar (with applicator) that treats 1000+ connectors. 30-day money back.
  12. Kevin, Profound, and no one is completely guiltless. However, and I apologize in advance if you don't agree -- but there is a difference between flaming someone, and degrading them. Flaming is a normal part of a healthy forum, but the constant posts consisting primarily of nothing more than disparaging comments aimed at a select few or one -- is wrong. No one threw the garlic out of the recipe. I like garlic. If they're not here, it's by choice. Since the warning applies equally to all, it seems more like those who are no longer here have decided they cannot add anything to the conversation without risking banishment.
  13. I'm not ready for a group hug yet. I'm still seething, and can't believe it actually took an email to the Webmaster to put a stop to it.
  14. lol -- no doubt. Imagine though, people are actually buying these things!
  15. Craig sends all of the crossover work to me. Don't worry, I use the best super glue, ah, I mean, solder there is. Considering the price of Auricaps these days, I would go with a good film and tin foil instead. I would also yank one resistor in each board and replace it with a Mills.
  16. I always preferred, "Grab them by the balls, and their minds will follow" -- John Wayne
  17. Interesting thoughts about the inductors -- hmmm, wouldn't that suck.
  18. That ain't no damn sunglass case, it's a freaking heating pad to keep the cables warm.
  19. Craig will send you easy to follow biasing instructions, and if I remember correctly -- all the words were even spelled right. If you have trouble -- he'll walk you through the steps over the phone (like he had to do with me). Hey Texas -- it takes about 75,000 hours to break in a Scott, so get comfortable.
  20. Well, I don't know. There is all of the R&D, and you have to recoup the costs somehow. Maybe it's not so bad after all. Hey, those are pretty -- know where I can pick up a set?
  21. Just ignorant actually -- and we are all prone to it. Thankfully, most of us don't have that kind of money --
