  1. it might pop it i guess it it is half *** made
  2. i guess it possible to break apart cheaper inferior boxes. The main reason I believe boxes are well made, braced and stuff is to not have vibrations that will impede in your music. That and resonance
  3. i like my music and i would like a pair that has really good quality to them so i can learn from them. And i do have musical appreciation

Ya ignore the BS and ya buy want we recommend as a good value and ya plug them in and ya listen, in about a year to two, ya check the tubes and maybe replace them, the rest id hobbyists BS… ---------------- what tubes do you recommend?
  5. also dean g crossover, i read the post about them, how much are they? and how much time does it take to install? and is it covered by warantee still?
  6. can you give me a list of what kind of tubes to look for and a good website explaining how they might work?

As measured in my 17x21 living room with super-sensitive walnut-oiled Cornwall 1s, with their B2 crossovers, and RS SPL meter, 4.9 watts should give you an ear-splitting 101dB average, C weighted SPL at 1Khz with 100dB/w/m sensitive loudspeakers! Ya donna need powa, laddy, ya need good, clean microwatts. Think tubes or vintage receivers. ---------------- I'm not using smallish bookshelf speakers, I want and going to get rf-7's I would try tubes but i heard they are somewhat high maintainance and I have no idea how they work or which kind to buy. oh no I would be living in the frat not playing just once. And i also expect to have these rf-7 for a while
  8. play music in a 60'X60'feet basement at a frat. that a conservative smallish figure
  9. i know but i just wanted some leeway. as 64 watts equal 120db. But were talking about at 1 meter. what if the room was a conservative 60X60 basement? and i think 120 db at 64 watts is pushing it but i might go that far and the yamaha only have 16 more watts at full power so i think i need minimum of 100 watts. Lets get it straight im happy with 120 db at 64 watts but i just don't want to burn out or blow up my reciever. I just like that I'm not near maxing out the reciever playing 64 watts
  10. who keeps saying im getting rb 25?? i want rf-7's
  11. but that getting real close to the 80watt max of the yamaha and yeah im thinking pb2+ for subwoofer
  12. Hey sry firepinch I remember you said you used WinISD to tune your tumult driver? I was wondering since it does not have it installed what are the parameters. Do you have the file still? I just need the parameter of the speakers as i can find all the technical data on the website but they do not offer the size of the speaker. Thanks

A vintage 70s amp (cheap on ebay then under $100 to have it freshened up) will sound better. None of those could touch my '76 kenwood for 2-channel purposes. HT is a different story altogether but this is the 2-channel forum so I just assumed........ ---------------- first i'm pretty new to audio, you can see my signature, i have promedia ultras. I believe it time to upgrade. Also I dislike ebay and I rather purchase new (warantee, and the not used and abused feeling). But you can say I'm very uneducated in anything that is older then the current models because im 19 and that 70's vintage amp would mean that it would be older then me.
  14. oh i'm a college kid i might be moving into a frat with a basement of 60' by 60' conservative numbers. plus they also have a rush month where they would blair the speakers outside at full volume
  15. im a little concerned with the yamaha and the power capablities thoug, the denon 100 rms, the hk is 120 rms, and the yamaha are 80 rms. I just wished they be 100 watts then i would be sold. I kinda like the 100 watts number to have some room to be able to push my system without it failing
  16. I was looking at the Denon DRA-685, The Harmon Kardon HK3480, and the yamamha rx 596. I was just wondering which of these or any other stereo recievers are good. Any preferences, I know majority like denon minority like yamaha cause of the brightness, what about harmon kardon? what is pro and con of them and onkyos too? these are to power rf-7 in the future (maybe if paycheck is forgivable)
  17. where did you hear that one from? and thank god i got the dd5.1 when it went on clearance
  18. blow up blow up blow up, oops did i say that i meant good luck
  19. is there any more information on the "Everest" subwoofer besides the page that holds the site to buy from?
  20. what drives me nuts in the promediasections is: My thing blew up help me fix it. Or I hear a Buzz how can I stop it. Subwoofer section: Is the SVS that much better then RSW?
