  3. thanks guys and where did you people buy your klipsch?
  4. also that system will be for a college dorm LMAO
  5. I'm looking forward to getting a complete home system. I think i want the rf7 which online cost as complete set 2600 without the rsw 15, I was wondering if online is safe cause they said they will honor the warantee and what would be a good estimate on a set of rf7 at a authorized store two towers a center and the surround, no i cannot afford surrounds being the rf7 like the ear but i was wondering rsw 15 or svs pb2+ as they fall around the same price? I want the svs for the deep punch but now i been hearing rsw 15 has punch according to new tests. What would be your decision. and what type of reciever also is good i was looking for the denon 3803.

  7. i can;t even open the damn thing as the screws seem to be going to strip if i attempt
  8. I particulary like the dd5.1 sound over my santacruz card but the fact that it comes only in stereo for music kinda sucks i wish there was a stereo 3x like the audigy card has on thier card on the dd5.1
  9. bestbuy does not sell the sws only klipschs i found online does
  10. I always hear people with both sws and the dd 5.1 that they wished they had a blue lcd. have both and wondered. I remember how the lcd display is illuminated by way of led. Im sure i'm voiding warantee but did anyone ever open the dd 5.1? how many screws on the bottom, i see two but i bet there are more. and then replace the green led with a blue led to have a matching and cool looking blue screen. has anyone done this? i wonder also the ampsand wttage the dd 5.1 uses on the lcd but soon i will try this experiment and post soon.
  11. I use my turtle beach santa cruz card sp/dif out with the dd-5.1 and i was wondering if there is a setting to utalize a virtual 5.1 like when i use analog on my out with the sound card. I been listening to it soo long i miss it, stereo feature just not doing it for me since i think unconsciously that im only using the front two, what a waste i have 5 speakers. The turtle beach handled the virtual 5.1 rather well. Its just a incomvience since i spent 100 for a system that is more tuneable but i lost my 5.1 damn. im keeping the dd-5.1 but i honestly like the virtual 5.1 i had with analog out. and prologic just not doing it for me with music as the center overwhelms and the rears are non existant
  12. i believe bananas may increase resistance just a thought
  13. home depot or lowe's. 12 gauge is something like 15 cents a foot, 10 gauge like 25 cents. And it is actualy speaker cable, not electric cord. Just goto the wire part of a hardware store
  14. oh you should read this thread too http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=43194&sessionID={4F8D39E3-5E7F-4EF7-B360-E52B8C84C31D}

I am trying to hook up this to my Audigy 2 Platinum Soundcard. Do I use a optical or digital cable. ---------------- there should be a digital out that is a rca type plud. hook that up to the sp/dif in, in the dd5.1. Optical cable cost about 30 dollars for 3 feet and you cannot bend it or it will break. Just goto radio shack and buy a rca male cable for about 3 dollars for 6 feet. actually u need just http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&product%5Fid=42-2365 that might be a bit long though. and digital or optical is up to you but it is cheaper for digital. As optical is not that great i hear, people say it does not sound warm. Plus the wire costs alot. Merry christmas and i hope this helps
  16. unlimited? u can daisy chain them i heard up to 16 but i think more is possible but not worth it

If not can you get an identical dual 8" sub from Klipsch? ---------------- sorry no they are not the ultra 5.1 is dual 8 inch woofers. the sws is one 8 inch woofer. But surprisingly the sws weighs as much as the ultra sub. The sws is 100 watts while the ultra is 85 to each speaker. Also the sws has a bigger magnet and such. And it would be to configure a way to work the extra ultra sub in a system
  18. that's even better if you don't want a 12' wire. Anything of the above, the price should not be more then 10 dollars.

Cheers, John ---------------- since you have a digital out already you do not need that cable, just buy a rca male wire this is fine http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&product%5Fid=42-2445
  20. male rca cable connect the ultra sws link to the sws. But I as 007 have seem to notice you do not get any output if you put the sws with the sws link. The sws linked first then the ultra link to the sws is the best way, though i noticed that the ultra's bass drops somewhat. If that is a good thing im not sure as the ultra speakers go deeper then the sws, but i guess it takes strain off the ultras
  21. hmmm never mind seems like the dd5.1 on stereo does not use the center speaker, or maybe that is just how stereo works? on prologic it uses the center
  22. "Oh also, I will defiantly not use a santacruz with a digital decoder, for it only has 4 channel digital out for some reason, which i find very weird. " 007 "was optimized for the dell 8200 thx model that had the altec lansing ada885 model, i know this because i brought one.......... but what i believe is that the decoder will make it 5.1 using the sp/dif cable as i believe the sound card just sends out a digital signal and it is up to the stereo amp or say the dd5.1 to decode to 5.1 that is just my guess.... as my altec lansing ada 885 decodes the digital signal not the santa cruz card as that just outputs a digital signal" Me
  23. ---------------- On 12/24/2003 5:19:27 AM 007 wrote: My favorite part about the SWS is like the ultras it touches 30-25hrz zone quite nice with less distortion (port noise) Its a very nice sounding sub. Far better then 4.1 dual 6.5's with the tube port. Granted the SWS nor the ultra can hit that 25 zone very loud however teamed up they do a much better job. My only complaint about the SWS is that the sws link cord is really short, 2 feet. So I will be forced to buy a new one. However the control pod is really long, at least 12 feet. Question about the santa cruz, i noticed it only has 4 channel digital out. I mean granted its only thu one wire, but it says "digital 4.1", not "digital 5.1" What is that crap all about? ---------------- i guess you didn't see my post on the flame war with theears review. I'll repost here
  24. woah! that's alot of money for 3 feet of cable. contray to belief you do not need a digital audio coxial cable. Just buy a cheap regular rca cable and it will be fine and you will pocket 25 dollars... unless u are a audiophile or such? if it worries you buy a thicker shielded regular rca cable. technically you can use the red, white, yellow cables usually supplied with a vcr, dvd, tv. actually just try that if u have one laying around. just use the white ot red, not the yellow
