  1. HI I looked on the good guys site they have listed a pair of rf-35b's for 499 each!!! Are these different then the ones you refer to....Where did you see that price Thanks
  2. Hi I have a Denon 2803 on the way and a SVS PB2-ISD tha should be shipped end of this week. Maybe the following since it is a weekend. My new RF-3 II will be ordered in about a month. This will all be going in my basement that I am finsihing which is about 24x 15, the Ht area will be about 15x15. My question is what should I set the crossover on the reciever to since it can be changed by increments of 20 from 40-120. What about the subs crossover?(around 60?)I thought it was best to place the sub in the corner but it sounds like from other posts that not the best(do you just move it around and see what sounds best?) And what are these baffles I hear about on the svs subs? I will probably set the main speakers to small is that best? I have a radio shack sound meter(analog style) I have used to balance my speakers how does this play into the subwoofer setting. Can you use that to measure the correct setting? Thanks for all your help
  3. Hi What type of benefit does connecting say my dvd player to my reciever than to my tv. Is it only to give you more inputs to be useds and or to allow you to control most of your home theatre thought the reciever? Does it clean up the picture at all? And lastly I have the Denon 2803 on order. This reciever has the output for a rear center. I dont have one yet. will the receiver just not produce the sound from it and split it between the rears or how does that work Also I see the denon allows you to change the crossover freq from 40,60,80,100,120. No with the rf-3II and the svs pb2-isd What should I set the crossover to on the reciever and what should it be on the sub Thanks again. I have some pics I will post soon. It doesnt have any of my new stuff in it yet though. Just what is listed below! THanks

    Denon 2803

I am upgrading my denon 1802 to a Denon 2803. Any comments good or bad for it. If I get some time I will take some snapshots of my current system and the basement before construction, hopefully it will be done my superbowl! Regards
  5. Hi No I didnt get it yet...probably about 2 weeks, I was afraid the boommines of the ksw 12 might make the bass effect sound less than optimal..I guess I will have to wait and see Regards
  6. Hi I bought the bullet and purchased a SVS PB2-ISD. Unfornutaley I will need to finish my basement first. The wife is already up my butt about the size of the speakers(no complaints are heard from her when wwatching a movie though). The SVS sub is much larger than my KSW 12. The living room isnt really big enough for all the speakers and stuff. So I guess that will be motivation to get the basement done. Should I save the ksw 12 or sell it somewhere..could I use both or would it make the bass sound funny. The room size is about 15 x28..but the vieiwing, listening area will be about 15x15 Any tips on finishing the basement types of insulation or sheetrock or such, would be great Thanks
  7. When I said there isnt a big difference between models they may have been a over statement. Yes your player needs to fit the bill for your needs, be sure it accepts all the inputs you may have optical out, component, proggessive scan if your tv accepts it. Sure there is a difference between a 60 Apex and a 500 dollar model. But if you are spending about 150 to 200 give or take up or down. I dont think there is a lot of difference in video or audio. I had a top of the line sony flagship model I paid about 700 or 800 dollars for it. Never had so many problems with a unit, it was repaired by sony numerous times. My 150 toshiba works great and display a great picture. Sure there are better players than others, but I think for the most part any player in the mid 100's should fit the bill for MOST peoples needs My 2 cents
  8. Hi You could be expierecing a layer change where this is a slight pause in the movie for a second. IF it is a true flickeer I would check to see if the connections are tight. If it is taking a dump, I personally dont think there is a world of difference in dvd players. I have a Toshiba progessive scan dvd player(I think it was like a 150 @ Best Buy) it does the job very nicely. From my understanding there really isnt a big difference between dvd players, and I rather send more money on something else like a sub or something. Good Luck
  9. HI I would start w/ the speakers the denon 1802 is still a very nice reciever. The reference line is a nice pick Good Luck
  10. HI I have no local dealers in my area. Other than Best buy who only carries the synergy series and the quintents.. I did have a veery good expiernece from an online dealer, it was new in the box and the only thing about it on the negative note is that klipsch wont honor the warranty through online dealers. But any way it was cheap $319 plus 20 bucks for shipping for a rs-3II. I was very pleased http://store.yahoo.com/hometheaterphiles/index.html My 2 cents
  11. Sorry for the double post. I always enjoyed a action flick. Indiana Jones brings me back to my childhood. BTY my wife wouldnt watch IJ w/ me, no interest. It was a solo viewing
  12. Hi Just wanted to let you know that the new release of the IJ trigoly looks and sounds great. I was disappointed w/ the quality of Scarfase when it was released on dvd...But the Picture looks very crisp and clean and the soundtrack sounds like it was recorded yesterday. Check it out.... Tibor
  13. Hi I found a online dealer that is very reasonable for a pair of Rs-3 II. #19 for the pair plus 28 bucks for shipping. http://store.yahoo.com/hometheaterphiles/index.html They seem like a proffesional store. I emailed them and asked about the speakers, are they new, possibly returns, or b stock(not exactly sure what that is but I seem the term used a lot) They replied as they are brand new in box but klipsch will not offer a warranty. The warranty is not so much the issue for me , but these online dealer that have a low price is it generally bad stock? Any good or bad expeiernces with on line dealers Thanks
  14. Hi I have the Klipsch reference series Rf-3 II(on the way here) Rc-3 II Rs-3 II And a ksw 12 sub I guess that sub isnt too popular here. It does seem a bit boomie What would you suggest for a new sub, I would like to stay with the klipsch brand. I see the LF 10 & 12 is the match for the rx-3 II models. But I havent read much about them on this site. Is the lf 12 any good. Any other suggestions. BTY I am not loaded so I am hoping to keep it in the 500 dollar range. The price isnt set in stone. But I dont want to spend a fortune Thanks
  15. HI If you are just using a basic rca cable that could be the problem. If your reciever has one connect the sub tot he subwoofer out the the reciever to the LFE on the sub. Try using a cable that is designed for a sub Good Luck
  16. Which do you prefer.... And what about when you are just watch a regular tv broadcast program. Is the bass and treble come through the way it is supposed to, like with a DVD. Or does it come through flat? Thanks
  17. HI I have a owned a sony not the model you refer to but similiar. I made the switch to toshiba and I think it is a better tv. I think you are paying alot for the Sony...like Bose My 2 cents. I am sure the Sony model will make a good choice regardless!
  18. Thanks for all the great replies!!
  19. Hi Thanks for the replies. Your response to setting the channel volume is preety much How I did it. I think I will look into upgrading my ss-1 to the rs-3II. Thanks
  20. Hi Yes my sub has a lfe in and my reciever has a lfe out. It connected that way. I tried flipping the phase switch it sounds like it has more bass at the 180 phase, but I am not sure I will have to do some testing with it. Thanks
  21. Thanks I think is was like + or -3 db for 30hz. SO I guess a xo of about 50hz is good. But if my reciever crossover for the sub is 80hz, and my sub is set at 50. Isnt there a hole between the two? Maybe I am understanding the hz issue incorrectly Thanks again
  22. Hi My main speakers go down to 30hz (manual says Freq Resp 30hz-20kHz). So I think that means it go down to 30hz. On my Denon reciever I have it set large fronts, sub on, and with a selection of +main (for bass to be sent to this speakers too). The Denon reciever cuttoff(crossover)is 80hz. So what should the crossover be set on the sub all the way up to 120, or just above the cuttoff for my reciver(80hz). Or just above the cuttoff for my mains Thanks
