thats pretty good nicholtl...max 275 a few months ago...im a buck 75...never going to do that again...

my car battery died on me yesterday....that sucks...

  3. the ext in sub level control is for an external source...for example...some dvd players have both digital optical and six analog outputs(left, right, center, rears and sub)...if you decide to connect all six to your receivers ext inputs instead of using the digital optical....then you can use the ext in sub level to fine tune the sub...i hope this helps...and if im wrong..someone please correct me....thanks..

edit: sivadselim already answered the question...i was too slow...

Actually, in authentic Chinese, it is pronounced "shoe". I know of a few asian folks with this name, including Dan Hsu from EGM magazine. They all pronounce it "shoe".

    ----------------

Actually, I'm guessing they pronounce it "shoe" because they are trying to make it easier for non-asian folk to speak it. No matter what the dialect, Taiwanese, Shangainese, Cantonese, Mandarin...there is no "shh" sound when spelled like that. Simple.

How do I know? Because I'm Chinese.

    its sue or soo....

glad to see another chinese brother here on the forum...

I am currently piecing together a new home theater system. Presently I have the Center and Sub. The center is the RC-35 and the sub is the RW-12. I would welcome any advice to round out the system. The receiver is a Denon AVR-1905 that will be upgraded later on (can even add an amp to it sooner). The room this is going into is 20 ft wide and 18 ft deep. I have wired the room for 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 (just starting drywall now)

Have a chance at getting a set of RF-5s but think they might be too much for my system. I have been also looking to add RF-35s for the fronts, RS-35s or RB-35s for the rears. Other front choices were RB-75s. Just would like to see what others opinions would be. This will be mostly used for Movies and TV viewing, music around 25%. Thanks for any help or advice!

welcome.....i think you should go with the matching speakers as you mentioned above..the rf35s, rs35s will go well with the rw12 and your center...but play around with the rb35 and rs35...buy both and try them out....some like the a direct surround sound...some (including me) like the non direct surround speakers.....its all personal preference....

.....I did notice that the RC-7 came with two big screws. Are these used to mount directly to the wall?

    ----------------

not exactly (but i guess you can if you screw it to a couple of "L" brackets)...they are used to tilt the rc7 downwards towards the listening position....if you dont want to use the screws...take them out and plug the existing holes with the "sticky feet" that are also included...

I too went through all the machinations of setting up my system and my sub with the RS meter. The end result blended very well, but It seemed somewhat heavy on the low end so I bumped the sub down a bit and things improved quite significantly. Like one respondent said, it's probably best to trust your ears. The reason for this is simple. Our ears are, after all, transducers. Each individual will therefore have a different frequency reasponse to his/her ears. Some will hear treble better than others, and some will hear midrange better than others, and finally some will hear deep bass better than others. Relying on a meter does not take this into consideration. It is a great starting point, but only a starting point.

nice....i totally agree...calibrate first...then bump up/down the level to your taste.....i tend to bump my center and surround backs up a couple of notches..

  8. But I rechecked the Klipsch dealer search engine and have now found a place in Tampa, The Speaker Exchange, and I will see if they will offer a fair price. If so, I will be the proud owner of a Maple RSW-15. The subwoofer of my dreams.

my wife talked the local goodguys down to $1500 out the door brand new for my first rsw15 (birthday present)...and i bought my second one for $1250 out the door....i saw a guy returning it so i went back the next day and bought it opened box...same sales person...same store...

  9. i agree with sunnysal about the feedback your getting...

ive been a klipsch fan as far as i can remember....passed down from my dad whos still rockin his kg 5.2s till this day....but i have to say that ive tried/experimented with other brands but the sound of klipsch is for me...
