  1. Sounds fun Gregg. I am in anytime. Just say when. []
  2. Cool, I see Marantz and Mac will be there this year. Patrick, are you going again? Curious to see if any of you WI, OH, IL, MI guys going? boomac, j-malotky, damonrpayne, smilin, Parrot, DeanG, picky, Audio Flynn? garymd, what about you? I am considering going, what do you think? Craig? [<)] Too bad Klipsch isn't going. [] Or are they?
  3. Vegas is a lot of fun. Go there and see for yourself, then you can be the judge. Don't go if you're obsessive compulsive, that could be a mistake. Most of the nay sayers have no self control and lost their asses. One more thing, Vegas is not a place to go if you are broke. These are MHO's
  4. I drive over to Vegas for 2-3 nights about once every two months. Wynn, Venetian, Rio, Mandalay Bay, Palms, MGM, and Mirage are all very nice. I prefer to stay at the Wynn, Venetian and Rio in that order myself. Bellagio is a little too stuffy for me. IMO staying downtown is like stepping back in time 25-50 years. I'd recommend seeing Danny Gans at The Mirage if possible. Blue Man Group performs every night at The Venetian and is interesting to say the least. Have fun, and remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!
  5. KSS, too bad you missed this one for a spare. []
  6. So does he repair snowboards/skis in the winter months?
  7. Cool OT....What's the name of the shop? Do they have a website?
  8. Thanks, I am very happy with it. A new bike does depreciate rapidly, like a lot of other things. []
  9. LMAO!!! As with a lot of things in life, please ask yourself this question, do the benefits outweigh the risk? []
  10. Thankfully, I'm pretty fortunate that we usually have good weather here. Well, most of the time anyway. We also have some of the best singletrack that you can find. That being said, I don't have much use for my trainer. I rode Brown Mountain/Ken Burton over the weekend as I have many time before. It's close by and it's always a lot of fun. If anyone is ever in So Cal and wants to mountain bike, please let me know. I've riden most of the trails in the San Gabriel Mountains/Angeles Crest. I'm always up for a good ride. I'm also willing to go almost anywhere else in So Cal to ride with a little advanced notice. I currently ride a 2007 Foes FXR, Curnutt Ti XTD, 2007 XTR gruppo, 2007 XTR disc wheelset & Fox Talas RLC. See you on the trails!
  11. Gregg, I use a Cuisinart DBM-8. I am sure there are better but this works fine to me for less than $50. No mess. []
  12. Scott, A great detailed post of your trip out here. I am still really disappointed that I couldn't hook up with you guys more than once last week. Unfortunately it just didn't pan out for me. Supporting two households and being a single Dad can be challenging. Oh, and did I mention tiring? I am glad to hear that you, Allan and Gary had a blast though. Yeah right, as if you wouldn't with Allan. [] You took Kyle on the cultural trip of a lifetime. He'll look back upon this past week years from now and recall what a wonderful time he had with you in So Cal and Vegas. Ahhh..........the memories. I am sure you're very proud of him, and rightfully so. He seems like a great kid. He's well grounded, respectful, and most importantly, he has class, just like his Dad. I hope to see all of you guys again soon. I need to go back and see Jack Sheldon again. He kicked *** and he was damn funny to boot. Patrick, I am looking forward to meeting you one of these days.
  13. They make a good pot o joe down there at Dtels- and the appliance for doing so is a veritable antique. Like camping out indoors! [Y] That's one of the first pieces of equipment you have to be 'checked out' on when doing an overnight. colter, but what's your favorite coffee, and how many cups do you drink per day? I drink about 8 cups of Peet's a day. Needless to say, I am like the Energizer bunny. []
  14. Ben, Mine function great as well. Thanks again for the killer deal!
  15. Pete, if you're serious, give Mike Richard over at Richards Bikes in Palos Heights a call (708-448-8260), check out their website at www.rbikes.com, or shoot him an email at mtb@rbikes.com. Mike's a great guy, and is very easy to work with. Tell him how much you want to spend and what kind of riding you anticipate doing. Mike will patiently answer any and all questions you have. He will treat you right. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another bike from him. Plus, he'll beat anyone else's price. OK, I'll come clean, here's another one of my addicitons. [] BTW, I have no affiliation with Richards Bikes other than being a previously satisfied customer.
  16. It probaby stems from memories of chugging quarts of "The Bull" back in the day.
  17. Road bike mostly. I ride for transportation as well as recreation. I do have a rigid mountain bike that I've used on trails and I enjoy it when I do, but since it usually involves a car to get the bike there, I don't do it often. I'll be bringing my cheap-o road bike to the Pilgrimage this year like I did in 2005. If any of you would like to ride on the Monon trail for a couple hours (+/-) Friday afternoon or early Sunday morning, that would be fun. Woo Woo, Monon trail would be cool. Getting my bike there is another story since I'd fly in from the West coast.
  18. I think you should move to So Cal when you retire. That's next year isn't it? []
  19. Gary, no worries. I figured you had jet lag or were just relaxing and catching up with your wife or both. I am glad to hear that you all had fun. Wish I could have attended all the festivities but it's not easy supporting two households if you know what I mean. [] Yes, it has been unseasonably cold here. We're not supposed to get up to normal temps until this weekend. BTW, who's Patrick? Patrick as in St. Patrick from Santa Barbara? If so I am REALLY disappointed that I didn't get the chance to meet him. Oh well, maybe next year? You are coming out again then, right? []
