  1. Well I sure stirred things up a bit. I have never heard Def Techs before and im sure they are fine. I just want to say that I am proud to own speakers that in my opinion are "high end." You know when I remember back last year to before I got my speakers, it was hell, whether it be listeing to music or watching movies I am always 100% satisfied with my speakers and I think they were the best investment I have ever made. Im not calling Def Tech down or trying to be conceited about Klipsch here, I just don't want to deal with my friends calling down my speakers and praising my pals. He's paying $10,000 + tax(cdn) for his BP7000's and I paid $1100(cdn)straight up for my RF-3ll's. So of course they should be better for an extra 9 grand!!! Thanks for all ur guys' opinions and facts, it was much appreciated. One thing I'd like to add is that my speakers maybe are considered one of the "worser" of the Klipsch line but like all who have heard them and from my own experience; they always seem to make w/e ur listening to, to come alive with a certain richness and clearity. I dunno how to describe, it's just nice and I'm glad I decided to NOT buy sony speakers....lol harman/kardon AVR 125 Pioneer DV-363-K Energy e:XL 25's (surrounds) Klipsch RF-3ll's Acoustic Research optical and component video cables
  2. Hey guys, lately I've been hearnig alot about Definitve Technology. My friend is apparently getting a pair of BP7000's, all I hear about is how they'll kick the crap outta my references'. I'd like to know what you all think about them? If they are as nice as he says they are, does Klipsch have anything to compare? Which company is overall better and/or more popular? harman/kardon AVR 125 Pioneer DV-363-K Klipsch RF-3ll's Energy e:XL 25's (surroounds) Samsung 27" TV Acoustic Research optical and component video cables (RSW-12, or 15 on the way!!!!)
  3. lol, I was going to post a topic about this moive a while ago, yes indeedy i watched this on my reference towers and wow, "booom" those gun shots were shaking my door!! especcially the part where Robert Duvall blows that guy against the wall with the "scatter gun." An excellent movie, I'd give it 4 1/2 starts easily. harman kardon AVR 125 Pioneer DV-363-K Klipsch RF-3 ll's Energy e:XL 25's (surrounds) Acoustic Research Component and optical cables Samsung 27" TV Xbox Gamecube
  4. Well I have the RF-3's, very similar to your speakers and I use them for movies and music on a regualar basis. I have a harman/kardon AVR 125, which is one of their lower end of receivers but it drives my speakers beautifly, maybe go for the 525? I don't use a pre-amp setup just a reciever I paid about $800(cdn) for and I love it.. harman/kardon AVR 125 Pioneer DV-363-K Xbox Klipsch RF-3 ll's Energy e:XL 25's (surrounds) Samsung 27" TV Acoustic Research component and optical cables
  5. Yah I know I should be chasing after girls, infact the one i really like lives across the street from me but hey, thats another story. Well it feels really good to have some fellow Klipschers who now what there talking about and have alot of experience in this field. I have been told that having reference series speakers at 16 is pretty good and I have to admit I enjoy them to the extreme, by college...well I'd like to have the RF-7 system, Im the type of person who likes to buy what satisfies me and stick with it for a good while, and to me having the RF-3ll system will be plenty good. Everything I have ever listened to on these speakers has been good, in particular "The Eagles--Hotel California, AC/DC "Thunderstruck, Back in Black etc"; a very natural bass sounding movie I have watched is "Open Range" the gunfight in the end is outstanding, I recommend you give it a try. A question I had for you guys is where can I get a pair of the matching surrounds? The RS-3lls, not the RS-35's, I am desperatly in search of a pair!!!!, Do any of you have pair you'd sell or know where I can get them, If there used i don't care as long as there in mint condition. And thanks again for your support guys
  6. Well thanks for the info and encouragment guys, when I said the bass was lacking I didn't mean it as real issue, they are the most bassfull speakers I have heard that aren't actually powered, and don't get me wrong I can vibrate my parents back from upstairs but Im sure the RSW-12 will be a nice addition. You asked about my receiver, Im just running a harman/kardon AVR 125 through them, 45 watts, 55 amps in stereo, 25 in 5.1, I was looking into somthing to power these babies without needing to invest in an amp right away amd they sound amazing through the h/k. My friend lent me his old technics receiver when i first got the rf's and wow, i made it cut out at 1/4 volume playing "Thunderstruck." To me I don't think i really need to power em anymore, and I'm liking this high current stuff vs your standard 100 watts stuff Klipsch RF-3 ll Pioneer DV-363-K Samsung 27" Harman/Kardon AVR 125 Acoustic Research: fiber optic and component video cables energy e:XL 25's (surrounds) RSW-12 in april....
  7. This is really starting to bug me, when I was looking to buy a stereo back in the summer I travelled all over town listening and auditioning speakers. In my home town of Brandon, Manitoba Canada, (about 45,000 peeps) Klipsch is considered a very high name, about a year and a half ago I remembered listening to the RF-3 ll's at aurora video audio and i was blown away by them. I also remember talking to my friends about them and we all looked in awww at them as if we were bums looking at ferrari F50's, all I could think of was rich snobs being able to buy those speakers; after awhile I had forgotten about them as they only reminded me of how much I couldn't have em, but after a year and half I was fully blown into investing in speakers again, I saved my money for about 2 months and found my self with $1000 So I took a trip back down to aurora and in hit me, those were the speakers I had audtioned a year ago! I thought to myself could I afford these, being 16 I was considering these way out of my range but as luck had it I ended up buying them in august of 2003; Not a single person has ever complained about the sound quality they have, despite a bit of bass lacking. But my point here is why do alot of people consider them lower end speakers, and it seems people hate their mid ranges, now I listen to them everyday and enjoy ever second of hearing them so someone please tell me they are good speakers, after all the only other speaker i would consider, regardless of how rich i could be would be the RF-7's Kyler, obessed with Klipsch
  8. Good enough for me! Thanks for the info, I think I'll stay Klipsch though I love the copper woofers there always an eye catcher. Harman Kardon AVR 125 Samsung 27" Pioneer DV-363-K Klipsch RF-3ll's Energy e:XL 25's (surrounds)
  9. Ok, Im weeks away from having enough to get the RSW-12, I've had my towers for awhile and love em but seriously, the walls need to shake, the pictures need to fall, the neighbors need to complain! WILL THIS SUB SHAKE???? My room is about 10x30 my home theater is at the one end of this room, I've heard mixed feelings on this sub and that it has trouble below 30hz, can anyone who knows for sure about this sub give me some tips, facts or advice before i buy this! Harman Kardon AVR 125 Samsung 27" Klipsch RF-3ll's Energy e:XL 25's (surrounds) Pioneer DV-363-K (the rest is on the way and is taking awhile seeing as how im 16 and bag groceries for a part time job )
  10. Sorry I screwed that last one up by hiting enter.....anyway, I have the RF-3lls for fronts, I am in search of the rest of my system and at first I wanted the RS-3ll's but my local dealer only has the RB-5lls left, for surrounds are they a good choice?, I mean I would imagine better bass response through them but what about sound stage seeing as how they have one tweeter that isn't really directed for rears? My other question was would it be better to buy the RB-5ll's with the RC-3ll center and get a deal, or continue saving for the RSW-12??? I want the rest of my system but I also want bass!!! what is more important????????? And my one last question, it seems everyone on here invests in a seperate amp to power their speakers, I bought this bottom of the line HK and they power my RF's amazingly, only 45 wpc but 55 amps in stereo, (25) for 5.1, my question is would it improve greatly if I invested in an amp??? I never thought I would need to but....so confused..........sigh Kyler Harman Kardon AVR 125 Samsung 27" Pioneer DV-363-K Klipsch RF-3ll's Energy e:XL 25's (surrounds) Xbox
  11. Hi everyone, first I'd like to say with complete confidence that Klipsch may very well be the best audio company in the world, you all prob already know that. Anyway, I love my speakers, just bought em a couple months ago, but I am looking for a sub to go with them I have me eyes set on the RSW-12, What do you all think of it? I heard it just a little bit at my local dealers' and it managed to shake the room pretty well but will it be satisfactory with my setup?
