  1. Not sure if any of the guys selling them on eBay are Authorized but there are many for sale right now.
  2. Home Theater Master MX-650 or above (i.e. MX-850, MX-900, MX-950, etc.). The MX-650 is the first one in the line up that has RF and IR. With the one remote, you can control anything in your house from just about anywhere in the house. It has hard buttons, 8 of them having a programmable LCD label next to them (I HATE LCD touch screens like the Philips Pronto...they are cool to show off but not practical). It has macro functions, a really good learning system, etc. If you want to program more advanced features with your PC like discrete codes and more advanced macros, you should look at the MX-850 or MX-950. http://www.universalremote.com/pro/products.php Last thought...if you are really going for inexpensive, you could get the previous generation MX-600 which comes with a RF base station. You can find them cheap through Price Grabber. http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=3969786/search=MX-600
  3. I have heard so much praise for Futurama but I just was never able to get into it. Is it the witty humor that people like? I just never thought it was as good as the Simpsons. I think Family Guy takes the cake on witty cartoons right now.
  4. DeanG, I just sent you an e-mail with a plea to help me before I give up on my Klipsch Reference Speakers. []
  5. Sorry to say that Deano passed away two weeks ago.[][] If you own the RC or RF stuff, Deans filters are a must. He will get back to you. Worth the wait. tc Terrible...playing with my emotions I shall wait patiently...............
  6. Just a quick update...I bought 2 sets of speakers to audition at home in an attempt to replace my Klipsch. I tried the Energy Reference Conn. line (RC-50 and LCR center) and B&W 600 series. I auditioned them compared to the Klipsch for nearly 3 days straight. I am happy to say that I am going to keep the Klipsch. There were some subtle differences and each speaker had it's pros and cons but at the end of the day the Klipsch sounded awesome compared to these more expensive speakers and the others don't warrant the price increase. Also, something else happend during the 3 days. As I put more hours on my Arcam receiver, it balanced out and the Klipsch don't sound as bright. The Arcam AVR350 is by far the best sounding receiver I have ever heard...highly recommended!!! I think I'll upgrade the crossovers in my Klipsch's and stop for a while. Now, if I could just get a hold of DeanG
  7. I am looking for crossovers for my RC-7 and RF-35's. I PM'd him but haven't heard back. Anyone know if he is still selling the crossovers?
  8. I definitely think that playing around with it is good as "the right sound" is subjective. I did find this link that has some good arguments to leaving all speakers on small: http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/34579/128214.html
  9. In a 7.1 configuration where I have a dedicated sub, can I still run either the RF-35's or RC-7 in Large mode or should I let the sub handle all the bass? I know you normally want all speakers as small but it seems as if the RF-35's especially are large enough to handle low frequencies.
  10. I have tried to lower the level of the center...down to -2db even. To clear something up...the RF-35's are also very bright as well as the RC-7. That is a seperate issue than the speakers having a different tone. I mostly notice the tone different when adjusting the levels or when using a demo CD that puts the same sound on each channel.
  11. No harm done. Your way certainly is the most economical way to do it. But, I'd hate to have Klipsch's top of the line center channel and then downgrade it. I would imagine that DeanG who has modified many, many RF-7s would have a similar crossover upgrade for an RC-7. Those who have installed Dean's crossover say that it takes the bite from the treble and smoothes the overall sound out. Does DeanG sell these crossovers online or would I need to PM him?
  12. Is there any way you can post a picture of how your system is set up? Also, what components are you using as far as receiver/DVD player/CD player? I've found through upgrading every component in my system this year that a huge upgrade in sound quality can be had by going with better quality electronics. Actually, this is where I started to notice the problems with overly bright speakers. I just upgraded my receiver from a Denon AVR-3802 to an Arcam AVR350. The Arcam is regarded as one of the best recievers in terms of sound quality on the market but it makes the highs stand out a lot more than the Denon. I also recently tried the Pioneer Elite VSX-84 and had to return it as well becuase it made the Klipsch so bright. I could go back to Denon and get a 4306 or 4806 but I'd hate to get rid of the Arcam. I'm also tempted to now upgrade my speakers rather than downgrade my receiver.
  13. Is there anything I can do to take out some of the "brightness" of the RC-7? It seems extremely harsh. I'm afraid that this is just an accepted quality of Klipsch and that I should look for something else if I don't like it. However, I am hoping there is a fix like swaping out the crossover or other components.
  14. I am noticing a significant difference in tones between my RC-7 and RF-35's. The RC-7 sounds higher pitched and more "hollow." The RF-35's sound more "solid" for lack of a better term. Was there significant changes between the 2 lines to make them not a good match? Should I consider trading out the RC-7 for a newer center to better match the RF-35?
  15. Outlaw 990 with a 7 channel amp was actually one of my main considerations. That, Arcam (AVR350), and Rotel. Problem is, it's not too easy to audition all of them. Is your recommendation based on usage with the Klipsch?
  16. I have a full 7.1 Klipsch Reference setup: RF-35 RC-7 RS-35 RB-35 I am looking to upgrade my Denon AVR-3802 to something new. I just purchased a Pioneer Elite reciever and I am very dissapointed in the match with the Klipsch speakers. They are way too bright compared to the old Denon. Has anyone else perceived this as well? I am going to return the Pioneer and try something else. Is there a general preference for matching an AVR to the Reference? I am looking in the $2,000 range. Thanks!
  17. I have been comparing speakers for the last few months to replace my Infinity Reference series speakers and I have decided on the Klipsch Reference Series. I am on somewhat of a budget...at least enough of one where I can't do the RF/RC-7's all the way around. However, I am considering doing a RC-7 with RF-35's. Is anyone running or has anyone heard this combo? Woudl they match or would the RC-7 overpower the RF-35's? Also, I am having a hard time deciding on the rear speakers. Would the RF-35's be overkill or should I just stick with the RS-35's? Thanks in advance!
