An album that you play once a month/quarter or less, that each time you play it you think - my god - why dont I listen to this more often? Only to promptly forget and let another month/quarter pass til you listen to it again. For me (boring predictable git that I am) it is DSOTM. I may go on and on about other Roger Water's recordings but my god this one is something. Last night the baby was at grannies and the wife out for diner. Volume up (there's a change). And DSOTM on - it was absolutely fan-bloody-tastic!! So what does it for you? ---------------- Grateful Dead-Workingman's Dead, American Beauty, LiveDead, europe '72, Blues for Allah, Wake of the Flood, Byrds, Seetheart of the Rodeo, NRPS, Miles Davis, In a Silent Way, Procol Harem, Canned Heat-Living the Blues, any Butterfield Blues Band, -I got about another 100 or so choices so I'd better stop.PS-Electric Flag-any, Hendrix-Electric Ladyland.
  2. I have recently acquired 2A3 amp from Handmade Electronics which is an amzing little amp. I am using with klipsch cf-3 speakers.
  3. I have owned a 502a for about 7 years. It uses 6550 output tubes-it is a fine little amp and seems to drive any speaker of 89db or better efficiency in my experience. My amp, knock on wood, has been absolutely trouble free and is just plug, play and forget(except tube biasing must be done occasionally) Presently I am using with Soliloquy speakers with McIntosh MR-67 tuner and Denon CD player in a secondary system.
  4. I don't have a scanner so you have to use your memory-"Aoxomoxoa"-Grateful Dead, any of the new old King Crimson albums-esp."Lizard". Moby Grape-"Wow"
  5. I took delivery this week of the 2A3 Classic Basic amp from Handmade Electronics-hooked it to Klipsch epic cf-3 speakers with a Dynaco tubed CD player with volume control direct into amp. WOW-great amp-great combo. Plenty of everything you need plus tremendous detail, wonderful tone and terrific imaging. This is my first experiment with SET-it is truly a revelation to me. Handmade is great to work with also-highly recommended.
  6. I used a Jolida integrated amp with mine. The 502a with 4 6550 output tubes-about 60 watts. Really sounded great-esp. compared to yamaha sand amp I was using prior to hearing tube amps. Enjoy.
  7. I played my lp of Grateful Dead's Mars Hotel album. I started her off with "Scarlet Begonias" All Right!
  8. The Klipsch epic cf-3 was a short production run (2 Years) speaker with claimed efficiency of 100db. The rap on the speaker is that it didn't have Klipsch house sound-whatever that means and was eventually modified, then discontinued. I think they are terrific speakers. They can be purchased used for a small amount usually.
  9. Thank you for reply. I am currently(no pun intended) using either Cary SLP-50, or Quicksilver full function pre-amp in my system. The SET amp will be new experience. Presently I use Quicksilver Silver 60 monos.
  10. Will the 2A3 amp drive the Klipsch epic cf-3 speaker in a satisfying way or will does the high efficiency speaker dip way below 8 ohms to cause problems?
