  1. I am going to get rid of mine. 1 pair, black, mint email me: justintackitt@email.com
  2. I have a pair of KLF 30's (black) Mint condition that I am getting ready to get rid of. I just noticed 2 ebay auctions, that ended with them being bought at 1,000 and 1,500. Anybody know if this sounds about right...and any other places I might be able to get rid of these speakers, other than ebay? Thanks!
  3. I have a harmon kardon avr 7000. I am trying to get it to automatically switch between analog and dolby digital. When I am watching an analog signal from my cable box and then go to a channel that is encoded with dolby digital it does not automatically recognize the digital source and make the swtich...I have to go into the HK menu and change the output from analog to digital...then when I want to go back to a regular channel like local news, etc I have to change back from digital to analog. My brother has a lower model HK and his switches from analog to digital whenever it recognizes a digital signal is being sent. My cable box is a digital cable box...not a digital satelite box. Thanks!
  4. ok...now I can get sound when on normal stations and dolby digital when the station is encoded...BUT my receiver will not automatically switch between the two. When I am watching a dolby encoded channel like STARZ etc I have to go into my recievers menu and select digital...then when I want to watch regular channels like the news I have to go back into the menu and select analog. My brother has a HK reciever and his switches back and forth automatically when a digital signal is received. I have had so many problems with this piece of SH!T HK 7000 I am about to throw it out the window. I got into my digital cable reciever menu and found the audio output and it is set on digital..the only other choice is "other" when placed on other it will only give me PCM audio?
  5. I have charter digital cable box. I first started with no digital cable connections at all and the sound was coming through my stereo speakers. Then I connected an optical cable from my dvd player to my receiver and then a coax digital cable from my digital cable box to my receiver. Now I can get dvd's in dolby digital and my "premium" digital cable stations in dolby digital but when I turn the channel to a "normal" channel like cbs or fox etc I cannot get any sound at all. And when i tune to one of the normal channels, the speaker icons on my reciever display blink on and off.
  6. I have coax digital audio going from my digital cable box to my receiver...If I'm watching premium channels like stars, HBO, etc sound comes through my floor speakers, woofer, surrounds, etc...but when I change the channel to a regular station I cannot get any sound at all. This has never happened before going to a digital coax cable for my audio?
  7. thank you all for your help!!!!! I finally fixed it. it was in the set up menu...i was trying to get to the set up menu before but didnt know you couldnt access it with the dvd in. I took the dvd out, got into the set up menu, and changed it to dolby digital! Thanks again for everyones help.
  8. i had the optical going from my dvd player to my receiver first and it did not work, then i hooked up the coax digital cable from my sattelite to my reciever and it worked. when i go to the dvd's movie menu and select dolby digital 5.1 surround, then go to the dvd player menu it says that the program is in dolby digital 2.0 and has a picture of two speakers. the movie is shark tale two and says on the back that it encoded for 5.1 dolby digital. when i press my dvd surround button it toggles through choices like tvs standard, tvs night, tvs dynamic, and off. but no matter what I put it on i am not able to select the dolby digital feature on my reciever. I can put it on pro logic but not dolby digital? one more thing that might help...my dvd player display shows dolby digital lit up like its decoding???? anybody know where i can get a manual for this thing...sony.com does not have it listed int their products anymore... thanks for all your help!
  9. I have my dvd player hooked to my receiver via optical cable and my satelite box hooked to my receiver via digital coax. With my satelite box I can get dolby digital surround but for some reason when playing dvds (that are 5.1 dolby digital) my receiver wont go to the dolby digital setting. Instead is says that it is receiving a PCM signal which I though was for cd's and LD's???? I have tried adjusting my dvd settings, but when I do it gives me dolby 2.1 and 3.1???? anybody have any ideas?
  10. thanks for the quick responses!!!! I think its like you said....some are two channel and some are surround....my miles davis dvd audio cd says it plays in advanced resolution surround, advanced resolution stereo, and dvd video compatible dolby digital...my aerosmith sacd just says stereo on the bottom of it.
  11. I have a pioneer elite 45a sacd player...with a dvd audio played on all 6 speaker. (l+r,center, surrounds, and sub) with a sacd it only played on the front left and right???? Doesnt sacd's play on all speakers?
  12. Anybody link their computer sound card to their reciever and play mp3's from there. I went from headphone jack from my soundcard coupled with rca to my receiver. I got some background hissing. Is there anyway to do this, ie. better sound card, etc and still have good sound quality?
  13. Is better music quality going to come out of a high end cd player or high end dvd player...non sacd or audio dvd.
  14. Looking at an upgrade from my rattleing ksw12...Looking for a musical/movie sub...whats the sound difference between the rw-12 and the rsw-10?
  15. I am not sure what you mean by "small or large" I have the left and right towers set at +5 at both sides. I will go through the menu and see if I see anything in reference to "small or large"
  16. Thank you very much for your help. The OSD for my harmon kardon the speaker level goes from -1 to 0 then from +1 to +10 I had both the left and right speakers set at +3...I then turned them up to +5...that just made them louder at a lower decible setting on the reciever. The back of my speakers have 4 connectors that are bridged, I am using the bottom set + and -...I have the positive speaker wire going to the positive on my receiver and the negative going to the negative. Also on the OSD for my reciever I have the crossover frequency set at 100 hz (it has 80,90,100) I am not sure it thats for the sub or for the towers? It is in the menu with setting up the surround, along with time delays, etc. On the back of my woofer I have it set as high as it will go on the output and I have it set at 120 for the low pass hz. (whatever that is?) It also has a phase switch that I have set at 0...the other setting is 180. When I turn the sub upside down it does not rattle at all???? I looked at the outside ring and it seems to be connected with a bunch of torx screws. I will find a torx bit and see if any of them are loose. It doesnt seem to be the hard plastic ring on the outside but the first layer of foam on the woofer itself. All I have to do to get it to stop is the put my finger on the outside foam piece when its playing and it stops? Thanks for your help and I appologize for my lack of knowledge.
  17. During music play, what comes out of the center speaker...just voice and highs? Also using a center speaker without having surround speakers...would this sound like crap?
  18. Should my KLF 30's sound bassy (sp?) powered by my Harmon Kardon AVR 7000. I am new to this sound system think so I dont know a whole lot. I have the bass knob turned all the way to max and it isnt very bassy...I know that can be subjective but the 2 12 inch woofers dont even pound in and out. I put my finger on the woofers and they are vibrating but I expected them to be punching in and out. Then I got the klipsch ksw 12 and have pretty much the same problems with that and them some. First of all I have it turned all the way up and I can hear the bass coming out of it but not a whole lot. I used a y connector and that helped a little...I think there might be something wrong...I hear of most people saying, "I have my woofer set at 1/3 power, etc" I have mine turned all the way up and it isnt all that loud. Not to mention I have a total of 4 12 inch woofers in my klf 30 towers...powered by my avr 7000 which has 110 watts per channel? I went through the set up my reciever so I dont know what else to try. Also my ksw 12 rattles. I put my place my finger on the outside of the woofer ring and it goes away. I looked at the woofer and could not find any cracks or rips? Sorry for such a long post.
