  1. for 5.1 or 7.1 it depends on the size of your room and the money you have:

if its too small theres is no need to have lots of speakers and 7.1 will cost more money than a 5.1 of same quality.

in my opinion you should finf another center channel speaker because an SC1 should not match very well with heritage speakers

I hear ya. I hate those dogs. If I seen one walking down the street and I knew I could get away with it, I think my jeep would accidently run it over.

here in france it s forbiden to have a pittbull or any other attack dog, so it s more simple.(only few people can have one with a special authorisation and if there is a problem ,the authorisation is removed and the dog is killed).

firts, you know it s a dog "created" to fight that why it is so powerfull with muscles everywhere.so when a pitbull bites it s always serious.

then,a half of people who have a such dog don t really know what it can do think it a dog like the other, and the other half know exactly what it is and teach it how to fight.

i think that s why there are accidents so much accidents with these dogs, but its not the animal s fault.

  3. i had the same probleme on a promedia 2.1 sub.

i retried with another fuse one day later, and the sub worked again.

i don t know why. the set of promedia is still working fine now althoug it happen to me about 2 years ago.

you can test, in the worst case you will blow one fuse more.

but don t insist too much.

Until you tell us the EXACT size of your listening area, and how far from the speakers you actually sit to do your listening -- all of the advice you're getting is suspect.

of course we need more information on your setup, but the RF7 are powerfull and i bet there is something wrong in this setup. that can explain he feels the RF miss some power.

While we're on the subject, two more questions: The first one is directly related.

    1. One of my speakers uses a 24' run, the other a 44' run. I'm using 12 ga. wire I got from HD I think. Adequate for that length?

    2. If I get monoblocks, do I place them with each Khorn or do I keep my longer speaker wire runs?

    ----------------

for the 2), i think you should keep your longer speaker wire run.

if you place the amp near the khorn you will amplify all the noise the wire will get in the same way you amplifye the music.

but i don t know if on about 40 feet it will be noticeable.

doudou, No doubt that they are quality French speakers for those whose ears match the warm European sound. But, for the price of a pair of JM Labs Grand Utopias I could have what, 10 pairs of brand new Klipschorns?

i agree the grand utopia are expansive.i think it cannot be compared to a khorn.

there were not built with the same philosophy.

and you all speak about the grand utopia but jmlab don t make only the utopia line.and in the utopia there is not only the grand utopia.

the rest of the jmlab line is not as expensive as klipsch here in france, for example a pair of klipsch horn cost about 9000euros(10500$) and even a synergy setup cost more than 1500$ without amp.

last but not least:don t forget the name utopia was not choose for nothing by jmlab.here is the reason why there are so expensive.

You're in France? So things have been quiet on the Alizee front for a year now? That's too bad. She really does have some tallent. In my opion just a steller voice. I'm sure some of that is enhanced with electronics, but there has to be some tallent there as well. I keep waiting for her to make a break here in the states, I would have thought it would have happen by now. Maybe the American pop culture is not ready for a French singing act.

Personally, I don't think there is an American teenie pop star that can even come close to Alizee.

    ----------------

yes i m in france, and we haven t heard about alizee here since one year at least.

she was in fashion almost 2 years ago but now...

i agree with you moon she has a great voice but i think her talent is not used at 100% with what she sings.

then double check phase again, that will make more a difference than length...

    i agree with you.

be carrefull if you have the two wire of the same lenght, one will be too long and if you make a kind of loop with it or if it is too close to alim cables or electrical stuff you can have some problems(background noises especialy)
