  1. Beware of your speakers shipping via Fedex. I recently purchased 2 RF 7's and a RC 7 center--the RF 7's arrived no problem and without a scratch. Apparently, the RC 7 left Hope, but never made it past Texarkana's Fedex branch. From all accounts, it seems one of their employees felt he needed it moreso than it's rightful owner to-be. Amazing!
  2. With a good sub (SVS or HSU, or even Klipsch) the RB 5's should do very well.
  3. I didn't know the RB 5II's were wall mountable, but it's good to know. There is no sidewall placement option as the left side of the room is open (foyer and dining room). Only a column separates these three rooms. And a couple of feet above the listening area is the best height? Well, I will take a look at how I'm going to mount these badboys.
  4. I'm glad to hear support for this option. It will save me a little more money in the future. The question that I have now is how to place them behind the viewing area---would stands be the best way to do it or are they able to be mounted on the wall? Problem is that the primary viewing/listening position is just a few feet from the rear wall where the speakers would be placed. Any and all suggetions are very much appreciated.
  5. I think that I am going to go with the RC 7 & RF 7's as my center and L/R mains. I have a pair of RB 5II's in hand. Would I be better off using the usual RS 7's as my rear surrounds (5.1 system) or would the RB 5II's fit the bill just fine? The RS 7's are just monstrous in size.
  6. I'm wondering if anyone has heard how the RC 7 sounds with a pair of RB 5II's as the front mains? Otherwise, I think that I may have found my center channel.
  7. I would love to hear your results of the A/B comparison between the RC 3II and the RC 7. Please post your results.
  8. I think that I could stretch the budget to get the RC 7, but I don't want my system to sound bad if they aren't timber-matched. I do plan to keep the RB 5II's as my front mains for an indefinite amount of time. I was planning on RS 35's for my surrounds, but I'm just worried that the RC-7 might overpower the 5II's and RS 35's. The system will mainly be used for home theater and not 2 channel audio.
  9. I have a pair of RB 5II's and was wanting to get the best center channel to go with them for a home theater. Would I be better off to get the newer RC 35, the older RC 3II, or an RC 7 (and turn the power down through the receiver to keep it from overpowering the RB 5II's)?
  10. The thought of buying an RC 7 has crossed my mind, but my L/R fronts are RB 5 II's. Wouldn't the RC 7 be overkill, or could I turn it down through the receiver a little to compensate?
  11. I am currently in the process of setting up my HT. I have a pair of RB 5 II's for my L/R fronts--which center would best match with them?
  12. I just recently had my new RCA DLP tv delivered and Voom was here the next day to be installed. The picture is absolutely amazing. I've never enjoyed watching the news until I saw it in HD. Right now they have a "no money up front" offer going. You just rent the receivers from them and pay for the package that fits your needs best. They have just under 40 HD channels right now in their "VaVaVoom" package which includes a very large number of movie channels. Even their SD channels are fine. At this point, however, they do NOT carry ESPN or ESPN HD, HGTV, INHD, or INHD2 (if that's a must for the wife) but are in current negotations. The beauty of the offer they have going right now is that if you don't like the service after trying it out, you can tell them to come pick up their stuff and you just pay for the service you had up until that time. I say it's pretty much a win-win situation. So far, I have virtually no complaints.
  13. I have pretty well settled on a set of Klipsch Reference series speakers for my 5.1 HT setup (L/R Fronts--RB-5's, Center channel--RC-25, Rear surrounds--RS-25's) and have been giving a hard look at a couple of H/K receivers (the new AVR 7300 or the new DPR 2005). As far as matching goes, what is the concensus as to how H/K receivers and Klipsch Reference series speakers sound together? Even beyond that, has anyone matched a set of Klipsch references with the 2 receivers that I listed above, and if so, what were your impressions? All opinions are greatly appreciated.
