  1. This may have been covered before, sorry. My system is made up of the earlier left, right, center and surround reference 3's powered by a Yamaha receiver. Only the center is a bit of a disappointment with some movie mixes. Occassionaly it's difficult to understand what an actor says and it isn't just me as my wife and guests have also asked, "What did he say?" Even playing the scene over with a volume change doesn't always help. What changes/improvements did Klipsch make to the RC3II? Crossover only? (I read that the RC35 might even be worse) I have tried moving the speaker slightly off center to my 65" screen and tilting it down so to be less "off axis". (speaker face is flush to the TV screen) My Yamaha has a center channel EQ that I can play with. What frequencies should I attenuate to try and make dialog, especially male voices, more discernable. Any other suggested tweaks would be appreciated. And yes, there is room to fit an RC7. Thanks, Greg
  2. You and me both. Several places had them advertised for $499 but are out of stock and can't seem to provide an answer as to when they might get some. I'm hoping you get some help since I'm not able to provide any. G2
  3. avman, I'm patiently waiting for some SA-3's. Sounddistributor.com will sell them for $499 +shipping but is currently out of stock. He said two weeks. Any suggestions on other places to look? Any complaints with the speakers? I'll be using them for my patio/pool area and a large backyard, possibly a future outdoor theater. G2
  4. Lots of potential but what are you going to do about all those reflective surfaces? That hardwood flooring will make for one very "live" room. Looks nice though. G2
  5. Thanks for all responses. The main reason to upgrade for me is to increase the enveloping surround (acoustic bubble ) for the less than optimal seating/furniture placement. Not so much for the source material. The room is big enough to benefit from a speaker on that back wall. Plus...it frees up that "old" receiver for that dream outdoor theater with three SA-3's across the front, that drop-down rear projection screen, some sort of LCD or DLP rear projector (still looking) so I can sit in the pool hot tub while getting that drive-in movie feeling on LOTR night. Can't take it with you.... G2
  6. Great. Another quality forum that I want to be part of. The wife will be soo happy. I'm seeing more and more 6.1 encoded movies. My older Yamaha receiver will only do a matrixed 6.1 and since I have another use for it...I can justify the upgrade. The question is how much, if at all, will I benefit from a 7.1 system -vs- a 6.1? I have a large great room with a high peaked ceiling and a drywalled 9' high shelf that runs the whole perimeter of the room. My RS-3's are mounted on the face of the shelf which is the same thickness as the height of the speaker. Looks like it was planned that way. I am very pleased with the diffuse sound of this set-up but would buy a monopole center or rear set for the upgrade. I'm leaning more toward the 6.1/center rear since the RR in a 7.1 might be too close to a corner and be hard to "minimize". A center rear may be better for my furniture placement.....or not. Any and all input is appreciated. 1st post, haven't even had time to lurk. Yamaha HTR-5280 RF-3 pair RC-3 RS-3 pair NHT sub amp 2 home built subs, down 3dB @ 28 Hz
