  1. Not terribly. They're in my bedroom now. Money from sale would go towards a 2 channel amp.
  2. Hey guys, I'm a long time lurker, very infrequent poster, but have a question that hopefully someone can help with. I have a Reference 3II system consisting of 3II floors, RC3 center, and RS3 surrounds. I've had them for about 6 years and they are immaculate in condition (cannot find a flaw anywhere). Black ash color. I don't want to pay 20 bucks to find the blue book on them through Audiogon, so....what do you guys feel would be a good price to sell them? I want to be sure I price them fairly for both parties. Thanks for any info.
  3. Have you ever calibrated your system with Pink noise and an SPL meter? How do you have your cable box hooked to your receiver? Are you using any special Yamaha listening modes (hall, concert, etc.)?
  4. OK. The band is not played on the radio much, or, at all. From California, has a large following of people at their live shows. Lead singer/songwriter/guitar player grew up playing blues.....today, songs are blues based with a touch of reggae. Hmm...trying to think of hints that won't give it away. Their name includes the name of the singer & the band. Like: Bob Segar & the Silver Bullet Band; Neil Young & Crazy Horse; Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. This is their ode to marijuana.....a crowd favorite.
  5. What is and what should never be............. Led Zep baby. Next one: "Oh let us burn one, from end to end....and pass it over to me my friend"
  6. Hey all, I'll keep this brief. I frequent another HT forum and have asked questions there, but I thought I would ask the Klipsch pro's a similar question. My current system consists of: Klipsch Reference 3II's; RC-3; RS-3; Yamaha RX-V520; and SVS 25-31pci. I think my next upgrade will be the Yamaha. I don't have HDTV, or even a progressive scan DVD player (not much sense with my TV), but I listen to music most of the time (80 / 20 music/movies). My room is not good for HT - very open; no acoustic treatments; etc., but I'm trying to get the best sound I can out of these speakers. So, here we go. I would love to go separates over the A/V receiver, but not a necessity. I'm looking to upgrade because my Yamaha may not have the "juice" I need when turning up the system (jam sessions). Also, only has DPL and I'm looking for more surround choices with stereo TV viewing (Neo 6; DPL IIx; etc). Also, my Yammie has no preouts (entry level receiver). So, I gotta replace. Due to funds (lack thereof), I was leaning towards the Outlaw 950B / 7100 combo. 1700 bucks for both is hard to pass up. Does anyone use this combo with their Klipsch's and if so, how's the sound? Any other amps out there that make their Klipsch's sing? I just really don't want to go overload on electronics (spend more on amps, etc. then on speakers). Any advice would be appreciated. Also, can anyone really tell a difference with different similarly priced amps? Just wondering.

    SVS

As stated earlier, either way, 25-31 or 20-39, you shouldn't be disappointed. I own the 25-31 as I said earlier, and am quite pleased with the power and deep bass for movie soundtracks. Music is incredible. Don't concern yourself too much as both are great subs for the price. 25-31 will cover the bass for all music and most movies, while the 20-39 should cover the bass for all. I also purchased only the PCI line due to finances, but in the future, if the $ is there, I may purchase a second 25-31. Have fun and good luck.

    SVS

I own the RF3II series and just recently purchased the 25-31Pci. We listen to music 80% / movies 20%. I spoke with Ron and Tom many times regarding this and my interpretation is: 20-39pci gives you lower extension in bass, but sacrifices upper bass output. 25-31pci gives you the highest upper bass output, but only goes to 25hz. For my system, which is in a room of 20x20x16 (room actually much larger--this is listening area), the 25-31pci can easily give me 106dbs from my listening position 16ft from the sub. At 25hz, 106dbs, I can feel the bass in the couch and the windows rattle. I do not have my pant legs move however, which is often desirable with SVS bass heads. I was initially told to get the PB2+, I believe, but due to cost and WAF I couldn't. Overall, the 25-31pci is fabulous for music...unbelieveable, and worth every penny. Movies is just a bonus. If you like mostly movies, and like to completely feel the bass, the plus version may be best. But, you will lose some decent bass in the music realm...2-3 dbs, I believe, over the 25-31. For me, I chose the 25-31 and am very happy. The plus wasn't worth it. However, in the future, I may play with the idea of stereo subs (another reason I went with the non-plus version), and get a second pci, but we'll see. I think you have to decide of 3dbs of more power at 20hz is worth the $225.
  9. I'm a huge Klipsch fan. Have been for many years. Don't mean to step on toes, but I just purchased an SVS sub (25-31pci) and love it. I've listened to comparably priced Klipsch subs, but the SVS is a monster. I purchased the smaller sub because I really like music and this thing produces clean, tight, powerful bass that completely blends with my RF3II's. I too was skeptical since I couldn't hear it, but I gambled and feel that I won. It was $570 with shipping and performs way beyond it's price. Overall, I would recommend adding this to your list. Based on where you live, it would cost ~$40 for shipping ($20 each way-should you return) and you have 45 days to give it a try and compare. As I said, I was very skeptical since I hadn't heard it, but I am very pleased. Not that Klipsch subs are inferior, but I feel that for the $, you get more performance from SVS.
  10. Yep. Received it for my birthday this weekend. It's a great album....acoustic and slightly mellow. Very well recorded, however, as the sound is great.
