  1. Do you know who this member is, so that I might be able to get in touch with them? Thanks for the heads up.
  2. Looking to find a mint condition Academy for sale if anyone knows where I can find one. I would prefer walnut or maple over black, but I am not picky on the color as much as the condition. No hurry, I just want to find the right one. Also, I am looking for a mint pair of Heresy's. Preferably 1's over II's in walnut oil and black grills. Thanks in advance.....
  3. I will give you $750 if you can meet me halfway in Bakersfield, Ca. Let me know. Thanks. Greg
  4. I missed it, but will do a search tonight. Thanks for the heads up. I always wondered what "dope from hope" was when I see it on e-bay.
  5. Brett, Go for the 19's for sure, you will not be dissapointed! I will not sell my 19's for anything, well I guess there could be a price up there somewhere. I will say it again, they are only harsh at elevated volumes. At normal to medium listening levels they are nearly "unbeatable" in detail and seperation. The lower end is outstanding as well with crisp, clean, and deep bass. They just do not move as much air as my Cornies, which is a very hard act to follow in any case. They are 103 db efficient -vs- the 104 db K-horns, so they are very dynamic and enjoyable to listen to. Hope this helps, Greg

  7. Thanks for all the kind words, I can't wait to get them set up! Looks like it's gonna be a little bit though, I am probably going to have to make some false corners. They are so gorgous, the wife was ok with the size, so I am good there. I wish I could just take a few days off work and get them set to do some listening right now. Oh well, in time I guess. At least there here and not going anywhere!
  8. This a fantastic C.D. for sure. It was in the mail box when I got home from work today. I had it in the cd player in about 5 minutes after walking in the door. The sound stage for "Big Left Turn" was my Marantz model 2500 at 250 watts p/ch and a pair of 87' Cornwalls. WHEW!! My fav. is "Headin'", that one gets right down and ROCKS!! Very nice job. I'll be spreading the word Greg
  9. I have both the K-Horns, and the 19's. I cannot give you a "side by side" rundown at the moment, as I just brought my Horns home from the original owner. It is going to be a little bit before I get em' going. I think I am going to have to build some false corners for them. I can tell you what I know about my 19's though, and that is "they are great 2 way speakers". In my opinion they need a large room to breath also, otherwise the horns can be a bit harsh at higher volumes. At lower to mid listening levels the detail in the high and low freq's is wonderful! The cabinets are quite a bit larger than the Cornwall, but are not destined to just be placed in a corner. They sound just as good along a straight wall as long as you can seperate them a good bit. Lastly, I do not own any tube gear myself, but have been told by many 19 owners that they really come alive with tubes. This being the same advice from most Klipschorn owners, they are the same in that aspect. Let me know if there is anything else I can answer for you.
  10. I noticed the same thing, I paid considerably more for both of mine. Once you calculate shipping, the cost goes up quite a bit though. And you are correct about them being worth more than that, I would not sell mine for any where even close to that amount.
  11. I think the single most important aspect of an audio system is the speakers by a long shot! In my limited experiance, good speaks will make almost anything sound good, almost. I've owned all sorts of solid state gear over the years, and have found good and not so good equipment does make a difference. When I found Klipsch, it was harder to tell the lesser equip. apart from the better stuff. The speakers alone made all of it sound good in it's own way. Go figure, I hope that made sense. I'm afraid to even listen to tubes, as I am a very "addictive personality", and I cannot afford to head down that road. Thankfully the growing Klipsch collection that I have makes my audio sound fabulous, or I'd be in trouble...
  12. Here are some better pics, I hope they are not too big. I'm still fairly new to this computer thing, and don't know how to re-size my photos.
