  1. I run two pair of Forte's from -50db to -20db and that is not much. At 0 db these speakers will approach a rock concert level of pain, 125db! You will be fine. Be sure to have a wall or corner behind these Fortes. About 10 to 12 inches works best for me. Jerry
  2. It certainly seems to be a much larger percentage of people that want to think they know and don't care nor try to inform themselves to the extent that they are more than simply dangerous. However, I want to tell a story along these lines with the opposite twist. Years back, I was visiting with a friend in Santa Fe, NM. His Dad was the owner of an old barber shop in the old town and had inherited it from his Dad and he from his Dad, so this was the third generation owning and operating that barber shop. I listened with warm feelings and sense that the old man was a happy and satisfied man with his choices in life. Certainly he could be from his sons and their accomplishments and the men they turned out to be. A barber is ranks in there with the most common of laborers. In short, I learned much to my surprise that this barber was the richest man in town and had been the major three times and had been invited to the White House twice. I still marvel in the memory of man of such statue, the old barber.
  3. I really like my Forte's. They were built in 1985, the oiled walnut cases, and sound wonderful. The Chorus II is my next purchase and I wonder if anyone had any comments about that model?? Thanks, Jerry
  4. The QRX 7001 is 75 wpc and can drive four Pioneer CS V905s, a horn mids and high, very easily. The Forte and Chorus would be the primary music system. I like vocals, like Norah Jones, Nat King Cole, etc. and I like instrumentals, large band and individual musicians. My listening ranges far and wide. Am collecting quad LPs, quad open reel, and quad 8 track. Also convertng two channel into simulated quad through the QRX.
  5. The Chorus and Forte speakers seem like brothers. I plan to use them in a quad systems driven by a Sansui QRX 7001. Assuming this amp has the power to drive these, I wonder if it is a good match for these speakers. Comments?
  6. Here is site that may help. http://sound.westhost.com/bi-amp.htm Jerry
  7. I understand that early Cornwalls had vertical horns and later, but before the II's the horns were rotated to horizontal. 1. Is this correct? 2. Why are the verticals the preferred units? Thanks, Jerry
