  1. Has anyone used this amp with Klipsch RB series speakers? I am thinking about purchasing this amp to use with 3 RB-35's and 2 SB-3s... Is this enough wattage and is this that great of an amplifier? I normally listen to my music and movies at a pretty loud level. THanks for all input! -Brendan
  2. I wouldn't lose any signal splitting the cables, will I? is there a way to do this digitally (coax/optical)? lastly, i shouldnt be expecting any delay between the two sets of front speakers, right? it is the same brand receiver with almost identical stats so i wouldn't imagine it would...
  3. This is kind of a tricky situation I am in now, but the short of it is that I need to be able to connect one source (CD player/DVD player/PS2...any of the three) into two different receivers and have them both working simultaneously. I have a 7.1 receiver and another 2.1 receiver. They are both Harman Kardons. Someone suggested using the tape out on the 7.1. The reason that I want 4 front speakers is because I think the two pairs that I have matched together for the fronts are very good next to each other. I do not really like them by themselves. I can't really get floor standers either because I don't have the room for it (college dorm room). How exactly would all of the connections for the tape out scenario work? Just run coax from the tape out to coax input on the 2.1? There wouldn't be any delays or anything will there? Any other advice please?
  4. That product is just an amp though? Can anyone recommend an (integrated) amp with very little or no audible "noise" for me? I really don't want to spend more than $400. I would want to be able to get really loud. I would, however, sacrifice power for sound quality/lack of noise/clarity.
  5. Just wondering...I am using cheap analog cables now because my CD changer is being repaired and I can't used my nice coax cable. Could the cheap portable CD player or cheap analog cable be the source of the static/hissing. Also, I noticed that the static or hissing is louder whenever there is a bass hit... Any other possibilities?...because I would like to make sure there is nothing wrong with the speakers so that I can return them if they need to be returned.
  6. Just got the RB-35s. They seem to have very good range. I notice a very slight static/hissing sound when I listen closely...Just wondering if this is there because the speaker isn't broken in? Or maybe my HK AVR525? I haven't noticed any other problems with the receiver though so that's why my first guess is the speakers. Any ideas/solutions?
  7. $475.00 for the RB-35 versus $300.00 for the B-3. Money is tight, quality is a must, and volume is a must...Which would you pick and why?

  9. I got a barely Harman Kardon AVR525... I spent a lot more than I meant to (500 including shipping + 4.5 year warranty), but I havent heard anything bad about it and I thought the extra power could benefit me sometime. Any tips for setting it up from anyone that already owns it? Or any tips in general about receivers? Thanks for all the replies! -Brendan
  10. How about a Harman Kardon 325 or 330...I have been looking and cannot seem to find whether or not they are 4/5/6.1 channel stereo? I have heard this is a great receiver and I might be able to fit it into my budget. Would it be a solid candidate for 99% music listening not in surround?
  11. Hello again and thanks to all who replied to my posts about promedia ultras...however, i changed my mind. i went/am going all out in terms of a system as opposed to computer speakers. I just bought the SB-2 speakers today and I have decided on a sub, another pair of klipsch speakers, and an Onkyo Cd player (only CD...no DVD). My problem is I do not have a receiver and I cannot seem to understand what I need. I don't completely understand the watts per channel rating. Apparently the higher the wattage per channel doesn't necessarily matter. The bottomline is that I am looking for a very good receiver within $200-$350 and I was wondering if anyone could suggest a few. I would be running a 4.1 or a 6.1 system ONLY FOR MUSIC. thanks in advance!

  13. haha yes, i did post everywhere hoping i could get as much input as possible. i will only post this comment once though, right here. thanks to all who have helped. o, one more question though. the extigy and the audigy external serve the same purpose, except the extigy is one step down? thanks again -brendan
  14. I definitely want to get these speakers, however, I am trying to figure out what would be the most effective and cheapest method of getting all three of these electronics to work. I have a laptop and I do not believe it supports a 5.1 system. It is not necessary for the MP3 player to be able to work with the speakers, but it would be nice. Anyways, I was thinking of getting the DD 5.1, Soundblaster Extigy, Audigy 2 NX, or Xitel Pro hi-fi in order to accomplish what I am trying to do. Is this what I should do, or is there a better way to get all of the speakers (and sub) to work in unison with the laptop/MP3 player. thanks -brendan
