  1. I have finally decided to go ahead and get a rear center. Problem is which one now? I was planning on getting another RC7, are they still available? Will the new model fit in with my current system? If it will, I could go with the new model upfront, and put my RC7 in the rear. Any input? Thanks!
  2. I agree that it would be nice to have the Klipsch that will match the output of my R7 package. I read alot of good reviews about the musical side of the RSW, but I have also seen alot of post with people that have problems with them. Everything that I am looking at so far is in the same price range, so that is not an issue. As well as size is not an issue either. Just want the best sub for the money I am going to spend. Now on the other hand, if I am going to loose deep sound, I would rather stay with a large sub. But I don't want the boom that my KSW has. That is one reason that I was looking to go with the smaller sub. Do you feel that the RSW12 or 15, or the SVS's in that size are boomy? Got the cash, just need a few sujestions! Thanks
  3. One of my all time favorites..... Sinatra - Live at the Sands, CD and LP Just makes me smile! Wonderful recording and CD mastering in 20bit. Very clear, if you listen close you can hear ice in the glass, not sure if it's Franks glass or the front row, but someones drinkin! That makes me smile too!
  4. I am finally looking into replacing my sub! I have read everything that you all have to say about SVS and Klipsh. But I was wondering what you all thought about Sunfire Subs? Does anyone have any ears on with them? And also I was looking into Velodyne. Second part of the question is, what do you loose by going with the 13" cube Sunfire offers? Does the huge power of the Sunfire make up for the size? Or do you loose alot without the size? I do have to admit that SVS makes one of the most beautiful subs I have seen! Thanks for your inpput.
  5. The new U2 sucks!!! Worst money I have spent in a long, long time!!! I can't give this CD away! No one I know wants it. I think that U2 either needs to change their style completely, or just give it up. And who did the Mastering and Mixing? Their sound guy needs to have his ears checked!!! One of the worst sounding CD's I have.
  6. Hey thanks guys! I was just worried that they wouldn't hold. But I guess I was wrong. By the way, what is up with your wife using your speakers as shelves? NOT IN MY HOUSE! I just chewed out my kid for setting a DVD on my speaker, he has been asked to leave the theater! Thanks again!!
  7. I was also wondering what that knob was used for. The same glue that got my *** stuck to my chair, by accident got on that knob. I can hear music and movies just fine, I just can't hear a word my wife is saying. The last thing that I thought she said was "Get your butt up, and turn that down!" But who would ask such a stupid question, so I blew her off. I am still here in my chair with the music cranked up, I am not sure where my wife is? Mabey if I could of heard anything she said, I would..................OH who cares!! Turn it up, and get me a beer!!!!
  8. My brother-in-law cheaped out and bought a Synergy system over at BB, while my Dad went with the Ref. RF-5's. There is a huge diff. between the two systems. Both running the same Onkyo Rec. The Ref. series is just brighter, with tighter, deeper bass. Also it seems that across the front in theater modes, the Ref. has a more compete sound going from left to right. They don't compare to my RF7 setup, but I have considered doing my den/office with a RF35 system.
  9. I have just ordered a set of RS7's for my system. My old rears sat on stands, and I would like to mount the new speakers on the walls. I checked out the online manual, the two screw system seems a little weak! I was wondering if anyone has a better mounting system than 2 drywall screws? Or is does this system work well. My speakers should be here Tuesday, and I would like to have a good game plan! Thanks for your input! Dave
  10. I too have heard the popping sounds on "HFO" in DTS mode. I can't figure it out! It drives me up the wall. I not sure if it is flaw in the mastering, or if it is something going on, on stage. I quit watching it because of it. Don't know if your into it or not, but one of the best concert DVD's I have seen and heard is Harry Conick Jr., Only You. Sound is outrageous! I love Big Band, and he is backed by a BIG BAND! Check it out! Dave
  11. How long of a cable can I run for LFE signal, before I start to run into problems, and what problem might there be? Setting up a buddies system, and we are running a Velodyne sub, without getting into it, it has to go in the back, or at least way back on the side. Sucks but no other option. Thanks Dave
  12. Hey guys, I am setting up my buddies new system. His room totaly sucks!! Too open of an area, but we will try and overcome that. My question is, we have no room on the front wall for the sub. And being that one side wall is a dinning room, and the other wall is a large entrance, we have only one place to put the sub. On the back wall, or on one side wall about half way down. How long of a cable can we run to the sub before we start to have problems? Is 15' to 20' too much? Possibly longer? Thanks for your input Dave
  13. I will try some of those materials to limit vibration, but how do I keep my wife from squaking? Do you have any recomendations for gags?
  14. I am now starting to get alot of vibrations out of my room. I think that I have started to shake thing loose. Any tips on locating them, and isolating them. They are starting to drive me up the wall. Some are now appearing at low volumes. I know that one of them is in the HD monitor, ever since they came and put in a new chip, the back of it vibrates big time. What can I do? Will weather stripping work, or should I get car stereo matting? Do they make anything for HT? Thanks for any tips! Dave
  15. The boxes on my RF-7's, which were manufactured in July of 2004, say that they are wired with Monster Cable. But when I was taking a nap inside the enclosure, which my wife calls coffins, I did not see anything that looked like monster cable. Just alot of very comfortable foam!
