  3. hey brett they sound awsome, i cant beleive the differance between the belles and the la scalas, bells are clearer, have better seperation and imageing, bass is good they actually fit better than i thought they would, now i have to figure out what to do with the scalas. they are setting in the middle of the room now will think on that tomarrow thanks for the deal, it was nice meeting you got home around 6 30 pm we took 40 east and spotted a yard sale and a flea market we stopped at picked up a couple albums thanks again Joe
  4. i wouldnt have thought there would be such a noticeable differance in sound between la scala, & belle. The belles have much better imageing and seperation setting exactly where the la scalas were. Bass is a neglegable differance, in my opinion. clarity seems to be a little better as well. can i expect this same jump in sound if i find a pair of k horns??? does anyone know hard to imagine sound getting even better. well i am going to listen some more will give a better assesment after i get more time DYLANI IS THE MAN, THANKS FOR THE SWEET DEAL ON THE BELLES. NICE PERSON AND A VERY NICE HOME ALSO. GOOD LUCK WITH THE REFINISH PROJECT ON THE K-HORNS JOE
  5. i wasnt going to say anything about getting the belles untill the deal was done and i had them hooked up, THE DEAL WONT BE FALLING THRU I AM picking them up in the morning, i was in contact with dylani even before he got the belles discussing k horns and i emailed him about buying the belles almost as fast as he posted here, since the k horns i was looking at fell thru a week earlier, i didnt have to badger or browbeat dylani for the deal i emailed him 2 times after that the deal was struck. I am trying to get as close to k horns as possiable since i dont seem to be able to find any close enough in my price range Joe

I am as happy with this system as any other I have assembled. A second system of Cornwalls, HK 430 receiver and Denon CD player is in another room but gets little play. The Belle system rules the house. ---------------- hey nice looking gear i love the belles i am supposed to be getting a pair this weekend, i see you have yours close togeather was wondering how they sound set up like you have them, how big is your room joe
  10. i agree it is a definate need to have item with a vinyl collection. after you use it a few times you will be a convert the 16.5 is an awsome piece of equipment Joe

Michael ---------------- thanks michael, you only see about 1/2 of the albums in the pic, i will be unloading quite a few albums in a couple weeks. that pic was taken with 1227 albums on the shelf i am over 1400 now and still have 100 to go thru and check for doubles this doesnt include the probably 500 i have already set aside to get rid of, and i am waiting on a shipment of 800 more when all is said and done i will have around 2000 albums on this shelf enough to keep me occupied for a long time, that and 400 cd,s and 700 cassettes, 40 reels (JESUS WILL IT EVER STOP) Joe
  12. my jolida is stock except fornew old stock tubes, this is hands down the best cd player i have heard, if you can tell i have a standard type cd one of onkyo's better models setting above the jolida and the sound is considerably bettere on the jolida, more life like, spacious better seperation etc... Joe
  13. system consists of a pair of la scalas, dynaco st 70, juicy blueberry upgraded woth nos tubes, jolida jd100, nakamichi rs 505, basis 1400 with rega 300 upgraded wireing and a grado sonata referance, marantz model 125 tuner, and a teac X 1000 R reel to reel and of course the albums etc... and like i said im waaiting on the vrd's Joe
  14. here is part of the room i dont have my vrd's yet. comming soon im told Joe
  15. hey gary, i feel your pain but of course you need to let me know about any classic rock you find extra especially any kiss, pink, zepplin, stones, any of the old acid rock. you wont have to worry about shipping. Craig said my vrd's would ship this week, i have to go to tenn. this weekend and look at a retirement home. and the weekend after that im headed to pittsburg but after that if you want to hear them we could schedule a date Joe
  16. they have 2 sizes of the shelf 58 inches square and 72 inches square marty that was my evil twin brother on AMERICAS MOST WANTED, i wouldnt try to adjust these for size as it is not solid wood, this wouldnt be much to build from solid wood, all repetative cuts fairly easy actually it was cheaper for me to buy than to build. i wont be leaving the albums leaning i still have 1000 or more to go thru trying to do 100 a night the shelf has 1400 on it now, so i will be running out of room when its all over with, and then begins the task of going thru the more than 500 i will be getting rid of, i love my albums but man what a PIA to seperate, check which is better, sleeve, then put in alphabeticle order. i will have a fairly large amount of classic rock, movie soundtracks, oldies, jazz, and R&B that will be getting rid of gary you need more albums (HA HA HA HA!!!!!)RIGHT Joe
  17. JUST KIDDING !!!!!!!!!!!, i guess it was actuall one of those days, you know when nothing seems to go your way. Joe
  18. this pic was taken after i ran over a cat on my sportster and it got stuck in the spokes (@#$# thing almost made me wreck) Joe
  19. well this is cool i put in the wrong pic and now the cpu wont let me put in another will try later Joe
  20. here is a pic of the shelf i labled each section as to what letters start and end that space now as i go thru my remaining stacks i just put them in the corresponding space. i started with 1227 already sorted and just put 50 albums in each space so i would have room to add albums as needed, not bad for 60.00 Joe
  21. went to ikea and bought there bookshelf they call expedit. they carry 2 differant sizes the larger (i bought) will hold 2000 albums nicely, also makes it easy to alphabatize them thought i would drop a hint incase anyone was in my shoes with stacks of albums laying about will post a pic later, cost was normally 149.00 i paid 59.00 as it was scratched
  22. i replaced the fuse and all seems well the bias was a little off not enough to cause a problem i wouldnt think, i havent heard any distortion at all no matter the level, i have the amp hooked to my scalas, and they are hooked to the 8 ohm leads, i was listening to smoke on the water, off machine head (awsome album i must say)thanks for all the info nice to have a place to get advice Joe
