  1. I purchased the Klipsch logo sign from the Klipsch store and I would recommend it. I have taken the sign and mounted it to a painted black piece of wood and it looks great.
  2. Here is a photo of the latest completion of my home theater project. I have carpeted the platform, moved the sofa into place, assembled the row of 3 theater chairs and painted the audio rack. Hopefully in another 2 weeks it will be complete with all of the audio/video gear.
  3. Over the years I have changed loyalties, for years I was an Onkyo fan. Then the Yamaha years, and now I have 2 Yamaha's and 2 Denon's for a small theater set-up and a Denon whole house amp/receiver. I have not purchased what I consider a high end Denon so I feel the Yamaha has a better fit and finish. As far as sound goes I have the Yamaha powering Klipsch KG's and they sound great, the Denon is powering a Polk system that I quite enjoy as well. my .02
  4. Hey Tom thanks for the photos and the advice, I found rope lighting on Ebay in the correct length for my project. Thanks everyone else for the advice and comments as well. My contractor moved ever closer to completing the work on my theater today and it looks great. Hopefully in the next 45 days I will have a finished product complete with painting and components.
  5. I am considering rope lighting to be installed beneath the overhang of the platform I am building. Has any of the forum members installed this type of lighting? and if so, what was the result and or pitfalls. The platform is 72" x 120" x 8" high with a 2 1/2 inch lip that will be carpeted. Any ideas would be appreciated.
  6. Here is the current state of my theater project. This is an upstairs room that is built over my garage and needed some creative wall building and light blocking ideas. It is 13' x 22' and has its own bathroom adjacent to the theater doors. The contractor is currently building the wall and will install the double doors next week, next the inwall audio rack. Following that he will build the 8 inch platform for the sofa pictured and a row of 3 theater seats placed at floor level for the front row. The skylights will be built in and then covered with heavy drapery and rods on both sides to balance out the room. RS 35's for the rears and Atlantic Tech in-ceiling for the rear center with my new pride, the Cherry RF 7's and RC 7 plus the RW 12 to fill in the front. I am following the progress each day and will share at a later time. I have gained much knowledge from my fellow Klipsch forum members in regards to this room and I appreciate that.
  7. I saw something very close to that on Ebay and went to the sellers website: 4Seating.com and found some excellent pricing. They are a Cali based company and shipping will be $250 to me here in Florida for a row of 3. The seats I saw are very close to the ones you have, did you have the butt shakers installed? or is that just marketing hype?
  8. Beautiful HT setup, could you tell me where the theater seats came from? I am in the process of building a theater and I need to finish the fine details. Thanks
  9. I bought a used pair of JBL L 46's from a friend in 1982 that were with me until 1995. At that time I retired the JBL's for Klipsch KG's which I still have in one room of my home. I can tell you that the JBL's of that era were so warm and had such a wonderful sound that you could not convince me to try any other speakers. Eventually a friend let me listen to his Klipsch system and the addiction began. I do understand that the JBL's are not quite what they used to be, I guess I will always have a soft spot for the old JBL's. Now, I have moved on to the RF 7's and I can only hope they last me as long as the JBL's did and bring me the same level of enjoyment.
  10. Well, I did it. I searched and searched for a center stand for my RC 7 and could not justify the cost so I decided I could build it myself. I had quite a bit of MDF remaining from the built ins I had removed for the theater room project. With the right pieces and some 2 1/2 inch drywall screws it turned into a fairly substantial center stand. As far as finishing goes I first used wood putty for all the screw recesses and the joints. Next, I sanded and primed the stand with Kilz and then spray textured over the entire piece. The final phase I will paint it an accent color to flow with the theme of the room. In the end I hope it turns out as I expected.

  12. with the TheaterMaster of the Universe remote, you too can have the St. Paulie girl serving up the cold ones in the comfort of your own home.
  13. Based on the amount of time and mostly money involved in my life long endeavor to achieve high quality, impress- the- circle of friends sound. I feel a plaque would be appropriate for me to receive from Klipsch. ..and as far as dental plaque is concerned, I firmly believe that the RF 7's at heart stopping, eye blurring volumes should dislodge any plaque I may have missed during flossing.
  14. I just received the Klipsch plaque that will be a nice addition to my soon to be completed theater. This plaque will pair up nicely with the Dolby Digital plaque I got a few years ago. I would recommend this item to anyone wanting to proudly display the Klipsch name and logo.
  15. I am in the process of purchasing a Theatermaster MX 3000 and would like some feedback from anyone that currently has one. I looked at the Pronto(nice) and Crestron(pricey) but feel the 3000 will suit my needs to operate a basic theater setup. Any thoughts positive or negative are appreciated.
  16. I recently purchased one pair of RF 7's, an RC 7 and a RW 12 from my local dealer. Working from the MSRP I received a 20 percent discount for volume which I believe to be a good deal. Obviously we all have the opportunity to purchase our Klipsch products from many different outlets such as Ebay and other online dealers. I have weighed the pros and cons of each and I decided to go with an authorized dealer for the support and full warranty status. In my situation I merely pointed this out to the dealer and stated what price I was willing to pay to take it out the door TODAY. Without being unreasonable, I was able to achieve the discount and the warranty I required. Good luck with your purchase.
  17. I am in the process of building out an existing room for my theater and I need some advice. I have a wall that I am going to cut out so that I may recess my equipment in the rear of the room. The pre-built racks I have priced seem excessive so I am looking for ideas from the forum members. Should I build shelves from wood and dry wall or what are my alternatives? Any direction would be appreciated.
  18. Okay fellow Theater enthusiast, I need some direction on a particular sign I have seen. The small acrylic sign on a base with the cathode lighting which makes it glow with the DTS logo or THX engraved logo. If I knew Klipsch had one I would want one of those as well. Does anyone know where these may be sold? I have found many different signs on any number of theater websites and Ebay but have yet to find these. Any help and direction would be greatly appreciated. Also, If you have been looking for the above described sign but personalized with your name engraved above Theater on it the place to go is Stargatecinema.com

  20. I am in need of a stand for my RC 7 and was wondering what other forum members have used. I have done extensive research online for such a stand and have had limited success. Sanus has a steel one, Wood Technology has a questionable wooden one and maybe these are my choices but if not, please share your knowledge. Thanks
  21. Mine is from the fact that I live in a section of a waterfront neighborhood referred to as the Northshore.
  22. Today is a great day! I completed the purchase of my Reference series and I cannot wait to complete the Theater. 23. I am in the process of finishing my Theater and I am using RF 7's, RC 7, RW 12 and RS 35's. I have the opportunity to purchase the Adcom 860 pre-amp and the Adcom 7607 7.1/ 125 x 7 amp. Anyone had experience with this set-up? Or any thoughts on this? Thanks for the thoughts.
  24. I noticed that you put SELLING in bold, do these speakers normally sell at full price or am I missing a hidden meaning here? Thanks
