So
I'm putting away some Costco items, and I've got this 2 pack of 2-liter
bottles of light olive oil. I'm trying to remove the plastic thingy
that joins them together. Well, I guess I pulled too hard from the
wrong side, and I pulled the whole top off one of the bottles, spilling
about 1-2 cups all over the place (cabinet in & out, floor, etc.).
So now I'm trying to clean it all up with Krud Kutter (my trusty
friend), floor mop, sponges and paper towels. I'm HELPING!!!It MUST be "beer thirty..."

I read on here somewhere that other than the screws they may be glued in as well and require a good beating from a mallet.
I guess if you live somewhere in southern Texas, you might be able to get Dave over to go heavy on the Corns.

I have two IC-800 speakers in my bathroom ceiling for my streaming audio.
Nothing quite like listening to the soft trickling sounds of a mountain stream or perhaps the splashing French garden fountain on Llewellyn's Natural Sounds Gold to "set the mood"...
I thought that's what they meant by "streaming audio..."

another view:
Your friend has all that tool firepower, and you get butt joints?

very nice... good job
I have a Thorens TD125MKI which I want to rebuild it... SME 3009 Series II latter model will be used and Denon DL103R
Not the lower-mass Improved, right? That shouldn't be a good match for the low-compliance Denon 103R.

I prefer my new 2.5 watt L.E.D's to power sucking 60 watt incandescents.....
But the 60w indies have a warmer presentation.

I just use the enophile dictionary, since I'm a wine snob in California. "After the fire, I noticed my Cornwalls had a smoky finish."

at least you didn't say the "other" part of the event was best.
No, that part was a blast.

Steve,
Thoughts and prayers for your son in law for a quick and full recovery.

Ditto!
I got to enjoy a colonoscopy this morning! The best part was having the nurse stroke my bald head...[Y]

For what y'all consider your best music, what's the listening mode?
This is an interesting subject - one that has been studied. From what I recall, there are the two basic modes of listening that you've identified. What's interesting is that people who are professional musicians and those who have spent years in music (as a performer) will use the "active" listening mode that you practice. That is my "focused" listening mode. Note that many people do not practice that mode of listening for wide varieties of music. I believe the term "high end audiophile" is often applied to those who take great pleasure listening in that mode.
Here is my listening chair:
Do you mind answering a few questions about the chair? I'll send a PM.

I have never been happier in life, or to be a member of this forum.
That's great to hear. And it's good to have YOU here on the forum, too!

Congratulations, ya big lug! Let's see some wedding pictures! I'll give you a couple days...

I wonder what it tastes like...

Be patient and scout the Garage Sale forum here, as well as eBay and Craigslist. They will show up. Often WAY undervalued!

100% agree, Steve. They did go out and get one legitimate hitter (Beltran) late in the season, but he never seemed comfortable with these misfits. I don't think the fans embraced him, either.

I don't like making excuses for my team, because all teams deal with major adversity through the season, but dogone it, I think the Giants would have been atop the division if Posey hadn't been taken down 2 months in (BTW, he's been catching balls from a squat, and is expected to return to the catching position next Spring). Just replace every time Whiteside choked at the plate with an average Posey, and there would be enough wins to get them there.
All that being said, I have no horse in this race. I do have good friends who are passionate about the game, who do have a team still in it. What I hope for is good, clean baseball played hard. May the best team win!!

It's fun to joke about his last name, though.

Ben, have you tried Vernor's ginger ale? I find it to be purdy good.
Had an MRI at 6:30 this morning (lumbar spine). Easy, of course, other than having to hold my arms above my head (doubtful they would have fit at my side in the tight tube). Celebrating with a pale ale.
