  1. Back in the earliest days of Klipsch & Associates metal manufacturing facilities were few and far between. That's why the earliest of Mr. Paul's loudspeaker designs had actual slices of pie attached to the grills.

  2. you're lucky you have traditional "can" flasher. My 2001 Grand Marq uses the body computer to do that, and every once in a while it skips beats and then does a cha-cha-cha blink and clink sound.

Sounds like an old Chuck Jones cartoon!
  3. Thanks, guys. My daughter's friend was able to get far enough in there to snip a ziptie, which dropped the whole mess down within reach of my grubby hands. Turns out it pulls straight out, no clip-thing, AND it was the problem, so IT'S FIXED!!

  4. I'm attempting to repair non-working turn signal/hazard lights in my wife's '98 Sienna. I'm testing fuses and the flasher first (I REALLY don't want to spend $451 in a bloody combo switch). The flasher is under the dash in a real inconvenient location, in terms of getting good grips on both the flasher and its holder, both of which I can't see. I don't think there is any way to pry it out (battery disconnected) without the probability of cracking something. Anyone have a good trick for this?

  5. I should have been somewhere 5 minutes ago (noon EST.)

    You were, Grasshopper.

We can't keep a "sticky" in place like a real forum or groomy's hard work (and others) would be right there with 95% of the answers that are asked (over and over.)

Right friggin' on. They can send a man to the Moon, right? I guess you could send m00n to The Man (but I don't think he deserves that.).

Good to see you're still here helping folks, Noah.

  6. says WR for walnut raw and someone along the line oils them they are no longer walnut raw but the label stays the same. exactly what i did to my 72 vertical MR ( Mahogany Raw ) i oiled them but the label still says MR

    100% correct, Dad.

thank you son, moms worried about you she hasn't heard from you in awhile.

Tell Mom not to worry. I sure miss her. Can you send her photo, and that stand it was on? You know, the one with the crazy wood pattern. It would mean so much to me. And to Mom.

  7. This will play 78's. It's a Rek-O-Kut L-37, Audio Technica AT1007 arm, and Nagaoka MP-110 cartridge with a 3 mil. stylus for 78's. 78's sound fine when played with a stereo cartridge. 78 grooves are wider than 33 and you need bigger stylus. I got my 3 mil. at lpgear.com.

Beautiful setup. Did you build the plinth?
  8. Excellent report, Mike. I have one of these as well, although I haven't played it in months (oldest daughter still using the living room as her storage unit). When she finally moves out...again (fingers crossed), it will be like rediscovering music. Nice also to hear you like the sound better than the Rega. And isn't Dee the best?

  9. Almost a year later! Since my last post on the subject, Paloma has gotten a paid internship with MAKE magazine, working in the shop, getting to "make" all sorts of weird and wonderful things. The other day she asked, "Dad, do you have a spare turntable that you don't mind me setting on fire?"

She's begun making Youtube tutorials showing how to do all this terribly disturbing makeup. Nice!

Sorry, my browser won't let me make it a live link!

  10. Russ,

It has been a long time, I think that trip was about 36 hours door to door. I still have the Belles, We may have two of the rarest Heritage speakers in existence.

Do you want me to drop off the K-horns and bring the ramblin roses back with me?

    Lee

Lee, sorry, but I'm next in line for Budman's RR Corns. ;^)

Remind me about your Belles. Are they the Ramblin' Rose finish as well? I just wish I could find a veneer that's similar.
