  1. It was Jorjen on a Cornwall resto. If anyone gets the ball rolling on this, I'm in for a pair. If you can take a real good hi res pic and photoshop print to actual size on photo paper...I'm in for a pair...

Cool, thanks. I'll contact Jordan and ask him about it. I'm thinking it's as simple a digital file, a jpeg or something that any of us can print on card stock, or heavy coated paper, or as you say, photo paper.

Yes, and maybe then they'll last almost as long as the speakers....do

  2. For your requirements, I would recommend a Tube Pre and SS amp, or bi-amp with SS on the bottom. MAc equipment is very good with Klipsch. There is a nice pair of Cornwall III's for sale right here in the Garage forum... Good luck ahem, your request differs from the norm here..most of the Tube/Horn guys are not really into cranking it. [:|] Whoops, might get blasted for that one...

  3. The parts and service department at the Klipsch Company is deserving of the highest praise...

A couple of weeks ago I had one of the 10" drivers in my RF-7's take a turn for the worst. I went to my local dealer and they put an order in for a replacement, no questions asked. About a week later I was regretfully informed the driver was on back-order and they did not know how long the wait would be. I expressed some disappointment and was assured they would stay on top of the order.

Thursday I received a call from the kind folks at D&M Sound in Columbia. They informed me that special accomadations had been made and my replacement driver would be shipped overnight. Friday afternoon my speaker arrived.

It turns out the drivers are still on back order and the parts department decided it was important for me to have my speakers in good working order. They pulled the driver from a new and ready to ship RF-7. Then they paid to have overnight shipment, which I am sure was not cheap given its massive weight. To top that off Steve from the local shop was kind enough to even come to my home and install the new driver personally.

As we all here know, it is one of the simple pleasures of life to own a Klipsch product. I just wanted to share some of my gratitude with other Klipsch forum members.

    Keep on Rockin'

Did you notice a different basket on the new driver?

  4. With the B-3 network the midrange is most likely the K-57K since those are Cornwall 1.5's at the transition point prior to the II's as previously stated.

Most likely 1984 or 1985 models.

Could also be the K52H or K52K drivers in there...My 83's came bone stock with Cast horns and screw in K52H drivers, B-3 networks. I understand that at some point they went with a bolt on to composite K601's with the K57K, or a bolt on K52K,H (same basic driver) one Heppner and one Klipsch.

  5. Hey Larry, that is a K-601 and used during that time between the 1st and 2ond generations. Not sure what mid driver he has, but it's not a 55-V.

Thanks, Steve. Should he be using a 55-V instead of what he has?

I wonder why Klipsch didn't use the K-601 in the Cornwall III instead of a K-700 crossed over at a rather high 800 Hz? This is just subjective, but I think the Corn III would have had a bigger, more interesting sound if its midrange were larger and extended down further like the I's and II's.

I remember discussions on the forum and in e-mails about this, and was told it was the loss of the original K-600 castings that kept Klipsch from using one. Now I wonder why the K-601 never came up.

I never believed that story. Also ask why they are still on exponential?

  6. Picture this: A 50" flat panel inside a massive Hooker entertainment center. I have 6 1/2" of clearance on the top of the TV with no where near that on the side/s. I'd like to mount Klipsch XB10's horizontally in the upper two corners inside the entertainment center. Any suggestions on an appropriate bracket where I could tilt and angle?
