Bump for Gene
The article Bob posted is great.
Thought others might have missed it since it is kind of buried.
Will someone please tell me how to include a link in a post.

I really wanted to utilize this link. McAfee kept detecting trojans so I x'd out & ran a scan.
I suppose it could be my machine however.

I have to believe there is a means to Dean's madness.

I ran my 7's continuous for 3 or 4 days. The sound seemed to be better each day.
They are playing on happily waiting for Dean.

harmanaudio.com frequently has mid to high end avr's listed for around $500 with warranty
and 30 day return policy. Supposed to be high current.

I purchased a HK 525 from harmonaudio.com that was refurbished with factory warranty. The unit arrived in pristine condition and worked fine. Nice sound with reference setup (IMO). I sent it back within the 30
day return period & bought a 7200 from audiogon for more power. I did have to pay return shipping.

Hi guys
my audio knowledge is very limited. This forum convinced me to buy the 7's (L-C-R) & h/k 7200. I use old kc-1's as rears & a svs 2039pc+. my room is 18x16 hardwood on slab - typical home living room.
60/40 movies to music & I prefer 5.1 music over 2 channel. ok :
I really like the sound i'm hearing but I guess i'm looking for a little more clarity (detail) if that makes sense. I don't hear any harshness some others complain about so I don't no if dean's mods would be a significant benefit to me. Would it help if I add a used 3 or 5 channel amp? Maybe a Rotel rmb-1075 or whatever B&K's = would be. My budget is about $750. I will replace the h/k with a pre/pro when I can afford to. I suppose a Rotel or B&K because some here say those mate well with the 7's. Am I even on the right track? Which amp & later pre/pro would you suggest?
I have searched every audio forum & thread I can find. To me this forum is far superior. You guys should be proud. I learn about audio here & members are respectful. Thanks for any help.

Kj5dq is correct. Audio Express in Searcy does have a
dedicated HT room
with nice equipment. They handle the full Klipsch line. For you Arkansas guys it's probably worth the drive as they will deal. I read this forum for about 2 months and decided to ante up for the RF-7's and RC-7. Thank you forum members for all the advice and knowledge.
I asked (Danny) to
price match the unauthorized internet stores and he did. He even let me
take home a Maple setup while my Cherry was being shipped. May just have
been small town service but they earned my business for life.

Thanks for sharing. I lost my mother last year and your photos brought a warm smile to my heart. With time the fond memories override the pain.
Sorry for your loss

Don't know what antique here means but I remember reading 20 yrs or so ago
his house was broken into and a pair of klipsch taken. Ole Billy had a cabin
on the lake about 30 miles from me b4 he got all famous & married what's her name. By the way she got the Little Rock condo in the divorce. This being my first night to post I thought I would practice.

I have lurked around here for 3 months. I searched harman kardon avr every night. The comments convinced me to buy the 525, especially from m00n. Purchased from harmanaudio.com (don't know how to add link) for $430 refurb.
They have a 630 available with 30 day return policy. The 525 is warm with my rf-7's & rc-7 I have had for 2 weeks. Makes me wonder about some comments that rf-7's are harsh on top end. Read on other boards. Anyway, I saw & bought an hk 7200 on audiogon last week for $640 just because I figured at $2000 list it must be better so I returned the 525. Both units have plenty of headroom and are very warm but the 7200 has more power. I won't buy another receiver but I may go seperates eventually. I am certainly no expert & if this post actually makes it to the right place it will be a minor miracle.

BEC posted a link to a great article about klipsch history within a 2 channel thread.
"Belle Klipsch" - I bumped it for you. Also try "looking for dope from hope" thread.
Will someone please tell me how to include a link in a post.
