  1. I just brought my new (used) cornwalls home and hooked them up in place of my hereseys. they are fantastic. the sound is so much more full, the volume i use on the amp is nowhere near as much, which leaves me looking forward to the tube amp i am shopping for. i will still love the hereseys hooked to my alternate stereo, but these cornwalls are really something else. i do not regret buying them at all and if i had it to do over, i would have gone to alot more trouble, fortunately i didnt need to. go for the cornwalls if you can.
  2. Are you serious? If so, I would like to come look at them, I live in New Hampshire. Send me and email with some contact info if you want to try and set something up. I am actively shopping for Klipschorns, LaScallas or Cornwalls. Let me know. smuttynose@mac.com
  3. What is the negative on this versus the AA? I am considering getting a pair on ebay and not sure if this is a negative. Thanks. geez..am i a newby, the AK-2 is a network, not a cross over. yea!
  4. 'probly more bass than mid, but how big is the difference tween the cornwalls and belles as regards this?
  5. I am looking to get a pair of 'prohibitive to ship' speakers as an upgrade for my Hereseys. Cornwalls would do nicely, but LaScalas or even Khorns are not out of the question depending on the price. If anyone is thinking of selling and is fairly near Portsmouth, New Hampshire, give me a reply, thanks.
  6. I inquired just yesterday and the quote was $2000. each, but, the dealer quickly added that he could go 15% off that price. So who knows. A cash deal might get a deeper discount.
  7. Now I have heresys purchased in 1982. I would love to get some cornwalls, but as they are discontinued, I kinda eliminated them from the running. My receiver has not yet been purchased - I have replaced my kenwood with a sherwood in route to a tube based amp. probably antique sound labs AQ1003DT. Other than ebay (blah!) where could I look for cornwalls or quality used lascalas? ps. thanks
  8. What are the next best 'heritage vintage' speakers to the khorns? I am getting set to purchase another set of speakers of the heritage vintage and deciding between jumping all the way to the ultimate klipschorns or taking the next step, maybe skipping a couple, to lascalas. I am not sure I can place the horns exactly in the corner of the room and don't want to be disappointed because of this. In the case of such non ideal location, would the lascala be my best bet? thanks, all.
