  1. Didn't you have this up for sale once before? I seem to remember talking with you about it... or maybe I dreamt it.....

It was Dean's son. I thought we had struck a deal, but I never heard back about shipping, so I figured he didn't want to ship it. I didn't really need it because I have two already, but it is SUCH a deal. Someone will be lucky to get it.

  2. I have to disagree with Amy. I;m not saying she's wrong, just disagreeing. I firmly believe that 1st impressions go along way. I think when you find the right dog, you'll know it right away. I think it's a gut feeling thing, and it sounds like you followed your gut with the Shi Tzu. I think picking a dog is not something to be rushed into. This is a big decision for your family. As an owner of a 10 year old German Shepard (sitting at my feet as I type) I say take your time, you'll be glad in the long run.

  3. Jeremy,

Thanks for the reply. I can still buy a pair of RF-5's, so I was very interested in your opinion. Were the RF-82's and RF-5's connected to the same equipment and in the same room?

The RF-5's and the RF-82's were side by side and they were both run on a Pioneer Elite receiver. Don't know which one for sure, but it shouldn't matter in this case. I think the RF-5 is even smoother in the upper mids than the RF-7. It just lacks the bottom end punch of the RF-7. I really need to go back and listen again, because I still have a hard time believing how bad the 82's sounded. They should be much better than they were. Maybe it was me. I hope so! Good luck.

  4. It's probably not a fair comparison, but I auditioned a pair of 82's next to a pair of RF-5's. The RF-5's had been on the floor for about a year, and the 82's had about 30 minutes of break-in. I thought the RF-5's blew the 82's away. The 82's were very shrill, which my trusted salesman/ friend assured me would go away with some break-in. The RF-5's were very mellow and the 82's very bright. I did not care for them at all. I really wanted to hear the 83's vs. RF-7's ,but they didn't have 83's in yet and all the RF-7's were all gone.

As a huge Klipsch fan i'm dissapointed to say the best sounding speaker in that room was the Energy R70 L-C-R bookshelf. It had bottom end extension like you wouldn't believe. Phenominal speaker. I was in awe!

  5. EDIT::After reevaluating the current market price for these, I have decided to drop the price to $650. I'll give it a few days, then it's off to Audiogon, or eBay::

I have a minty pair of RB-75's I would like to sell. I have had them for about 10 months. They have spent about 9 of those 10 months in the boxes. I bought them to use as 6 and 7 channel surrounds for my home theater. My room does not lend itself well to side surrounds so my plan was to hang them from the ceiling. Well my RF-7's and RC-7 are black. I could not bring myself to paint or re-veneer them, or to drill holes in the beautiful cabinets.

I spent about a month listening to these fantastic little speakers in a 2-channel set-up. I had them sitting on top of my Cornwalls, which really is not fair to do to these great sounding bookshelf speakers. They don't A-B well with the Corn; they just don't have the bottom end to compare. On their own they are wonderful though. They also would mate up well in a Rx-7 home theater.

I thought about using them in the bedroom, but I'm thinking about a do-it-your-self project, and stepping up my 2-channel set-up, so I need to free up the capital. I'm would like to get $650 for the pair. They are in the original boxes so they are not easily photographed. If someone really needs pics i'm sure I can arrange it. Thanx for your time,

  6. I just got one of my sets of AW-525's set up on the back patio this past weekend. It sure is nice having the Klipsch sound outside for doing yard work, or for gatherings. It took me awhile to figure out how to get my Dish Network signal to come out of the zone 2 on my B&K. I wanted Sirius in the back yard too. I eventually figured out that the zone 2 preamp is analog only. My dish receiver was hook up through optical, so a cheap RCA patch cord fixed that. It is so nice i'm thinking of pulling some wire to the front porch. and getting some more Klipsch AW's.

  7. I have the 2.1's on my work computer. I think they sound pretty darn good. Most of my co-workers are amazed by them. I find the bass a little boomy probably due to the placement of the sub unit under my desk. I usually find myself turning the subwoofer knob down. Overall it's a great package for a pc.

  8. This is almost as much fun as the Crazytubepower callout. Klipsdude has always rubbed me the wrong way, much like CTP did. Yes, Rf-7's are good speakers for the money, but everytime a thread about them appears, Klipsdude is there to tout them as the greatest thing on the planet. Everytime he talks about how he got his uncle to buy them, and his sister, and his mom's, boyfriend's, aunt's, 2nd cousin to buy them after they listened to his awesome set-up.

I say leave him, her, them alone. Let'em post all they want. The credibility is gone now. Just like CTP.

  9. I agree with sivadselim. Coax is coax. It will all pass the signal the same. Quad shield coax will help with interference, but if interference is a problem, you should go to optical anyway. I think the only advantage to paying more for a digital coax cable is to get high quality RCA fittings. If you are ambitious you can make your own. Buy some good quality RCA fittings and some quad shield coax and get busy. I make my own subwoofer cables that way. I've never owned any real high end cables, so i don't know if i'm missing anything, or not. My ears are happy, and so is my wallet.
