  1. Just bought refurbed Cornwall's, great clarity and presence. I am running them with a new mid priced Yamaha receiver. Pushes out 120 watts in "Pure Direct" mode. Is this enough power to drive the Cornwall's to max their effectiveness? They do sound great but I have to turn the volume knob up very high to get good clear sound that has concert like impact. Any recommendation on an Amp that could possibly work in conjunction with my receiver to give greater depth or should my receiver be ok? Any comments would be appreciated! Dan
  2. Hey all, Just purchased a pair of rehabbed Cornwall's. Great sound and presence. Question on power handling/audio quality. I have a new Yamaha receiver. Throws out 130 watts in "Pure Direct" mode. SOunds great but I have to turn the volume pretty high to get the full impact of music. Are Cornwall's designed to utilize more power such as what you would get from a seperate Amp? If so, any suggestions on good new or used gear to use in conjunction with Yamaha surround receiver. Thanks....Dan
  3. I have had a pair of Klipsch KG-4's for 15 years. Great, vibrant sound especially with rock music and home theatre special effects. I am looking for a replacement with similar sonic qualities but possible more oomph/presence as I have a larger room now. Looking to spend less than $1K. Any suggestions for new or used speaker models? Thanks...

  5. Question. I recently bought a new Klipsch RSW-15 sub. I have it attached via I guess what you would call line level input into the mono plug of my Denon AVR 2500. Previously I had run 2 sets of pre-outs to just send low frequencies to the sub. Worked great with my old Mirage sub. My new sub works ok but does not have the thump my old sub did. Also, I hear music coming through. My assumption is my sub does not have the internal intelligence to break out sub frequencies and my received is old so it does not do it that well either. Any suggestions on how to get the best performance from a new sub and and old receiver? Thanks...DD
