  1. This would be a bummer if all of our past posts are gone, I had a lot of good memories here. Jim
  2. Some of us have had such a change of life, that we really no longer get into audio as much. I pop in and browse all the time. Jim
  3. It sounds a lot better then it may appear. If Voxx helps keep it all going i have nothing to say Yea im still here I lurk most of the time. I had a lot of fun once here, I have never forgotten. Best regards Jim
  4. That is a true bummer as I am no longer able to collect Klipsch speakers in my new life, like I have in the past. I have a set of KLF-20s, a Audiosource AMP300, and a denon reciever, that is it. Over the past several years I have watching Audio stores close, and corporations selling out, so I am not too surprised about hearing this. I dont think that Klipsch would sell every patten to Audiovox, so they will have to compensate the new possible lines of Klipsch if they even keep the name going. My new gal complains about the KLF-20s and how big they are, its a shame that when I pass on, I am thinking they are going to go to good will. To her, they are just a set of big speakers, no one has any idea about the history, nor the quality of these products. Everyone is into their I-pods and headphones, no one cares about a true Audiophile system anymore, and that may never come back. If Klipsch does sell, or it may be in the works, it may be a wise idea for those who can, to start collecting now before the prices on E-bay, or ECT may actually double. No one is going to want to buy a set of Klipsch speakers made by Audiovox. Goodbye Khorns I see on the way for sure. I am not happy hearing about this news, I have listened to Klipsch since 1989, and have been registered on the forum for over 10 years, and I have had a lot of fun purchasing and hearing the different lines of speakers, as well as modifying a set of K-horns, and restoring the pair of Type Ds I once had, into Type C. All we can do I recon, is watch all good things come to pass, and never be replaced, and to keep enjoying what was once made that made a difference. Regards Jim
  5. We dont have to buy an Equalizer to be able to use the Klipsch speakers. I think the 901s are trully nothing but colored sound. NOT FLAT. Id bet if they are listened to flat, without the infamous EQ, they sound horrible. Regards Jim
  6. I havent heard from him in years. I hope everybody is still doing good financially. Best Regards Jim
  7. I informed Dan about you maybe he will pop a message in here. He is a nice guy. Jim
  8. Yes unfortunately I was at his house looking at getting Fort'e ones. Me and Dan made a pact that if i got rid of the corns he will want them back. So after he replied to my ad on craigs I am a man of my word. So now I have Fort'e ones. I appologize about this. I really wanted KLF 20s but the Forte's will suffice. Jim
  9. Cornwalls went back to the original owner. Thank you Dan
  10. Im serious 1979 Oak laminate.I am going to be getting an apt, I have Tangent 50s that will work out just fine. Im looking at maybe $700.00 due to new oil caps, and new terminals. I want a set of KLF-20s, ill even push for 30s for a trade. The cornwalls are in great shape, i just had the speakers grills true, the velcros may need redone because there sitting in storage. Jim
  11. Same here I didnt get the crites crossovers but i purchased new oil caps and placed a coat of Polycrylic to stop the lamination from chipping off. I am hurting for money and I could very easily sell the Corns but i always stop thinking that after seeing them. I also restored my Pioneer SX 1050 I had to re cut wood on both sides if the faceplace the old ones were destroyed.
  12. I have been listening to these Tangent 50s since Thurs, all I can say is I am still impressed, especially after listening to what I own now and used to own. Of coarse I have my cornwalls here but they are in a 14X14 foot room with a queen size bed also. So these Tangents at this time suffice. I am still keeping them all LOL. Jim
  13. Well honestly I caint compare them to the cornwalls considering these are 2 ways, but i will have to say they sound better considering the corns are in a 14 square foot room I can not get far enough back to enjoy the corns, but I sure can with the Tangents. Any Klipsch is a keeper. I like the bass from the Tangents it is very solid and pure. This is what is amazing to me the most. Jim
  14. I would still like to know where the name Tangent came from. These are very impressive I picked them up for 100.00 I was thinking of giving them to my brother but not now I like them too much. The lady dented in the dust covers I am the second owner I have the original boxes not bad for 22 years ol. However I never liked the unprotected Passive radiators, so I modified a grill cover for them. They are in great shape, even the surrounds are like new.
  15. Yea I guess it really all started when I heard people complain that the Heresys were too big. Yea right. I really hope they are enjoying their all in one shelf boom box units, little do most not realize is, most of the sound is colored and set by a sound card or EQ in the unit, its not flat for sure. I take a look at my Pioneer SX 1050 here that I am not using, and I always think I lived that day when the biggest was the badest. Most people had big speakers, and a whole wall of audio, now most people dont even own a system! Even I have I-Tunes and music on my PC and the Klipsch promedia, it kicks butt sure, but is it the true flat sound NO. It starts with the soundcard to boot. But I do agree it does sound pretty darn good. No matter how small they can get in audio for the home, some still have the boom box kick *** system in thier cars, go figure Yep I have that too. What is the point of having a nice home and a big living room, with nothing in it? Karaoke is a growing trend, but most have the Karaoke box, This would have worked well with the big systems in the day. Another thing is if I listen to my music, its to enjoy the music, not hold a conversation at the same time. Its like watching a movie with everyone talking Ill just leave the room. People get stressed out, bummed out, the hell with meds, they should build a system, get Klipsch turn it up and relax. Right now my audio hobby is all I have had for the past 5 years, this is what I do, and I will continue to do so. Even though my family here thinks I am crazy, and its nothing but a waste of time. Rock on Jim
  16. Now that I am single my EX wife grew into my audio hobby, but I have learned that NO ONE is into audio in the general world. I do know that i may find some one who cares nothing about my hobby or would even get into listening to my system, or music for that matter. This has been a lonely hobby for 10 years only I and fellow members really appreciate the sound and art that goes into the construction of Klipsch. To anyone i have ever met they are just speakers, sell them do you really need that many. I am sure that most of you go through a simular situation. But hey single is good as well. Jim 11 year member and just now starting to live it up.
  17. Marvel The wife didnt care about the kids. She got us involved with social services one day while i was at work. This started a 3 year battle I won them back into the house, but she still neglected them too much. It happend again so I willingly signed them off to a good family. I havent seen or heard fron my Girls since 2-03-2006. I dont talk about it much its always hard to deal with.
