  1. Another member is trying to work out shipping for them. Should find out today if it’s a go or not. I will let you know, thanks.
  2. I have a beautiful pair of KLF-30’s in Satin Black for sale. Cabinets are solid, everything is original, consecutive serial numbers, and sound amazing. There are a few scuffs here and there but very minor. This pair is from 1998, post glue issues. I want $800 firm for forum members. Local pickup in Redding, CA. I’m willing to meet or deliver within a reasonable distance for the right deal. They are currently listed on the Sacramento CL. Any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks!
  3. https://redding.craigslist.org/ele/d/klipsch-epic-cf-3-v1-speakers/6619508570.html Here's my recent CL ad with pictures. I will knock off $50 for Forum members if you pick them up. If I have to meet or deliver, we can work it out. Hey, that would be a great title for a song!😎
  4. Dude, I’ll bet your neighbors love you! Great looking rig. My system is music only and based on the “KISS” philosophy. Keep It Simple Stupid! I guess the only frill I have is a nice, but simple, DAC.
  5. Sorry, about as far south I go anymore is The Bay Area.
  6. I have an excellent sounding but cosmetically challenged pair of CF-3’s for sale. There are some scratches and gouges into the veneer. One grill has a hole in it. The logos and footers are missing. The cabinets overall are solid, no damaged corners. The good news is the drivers are all original, work great and in very good condition. Here’s your chance to join the Epic v1 club for not a lot of money. I would like $450 for them but will entertain reasonable offers. Local pickup in Redding California. I am willing to meet or deliver within a reasonable distance for the right deal. Thanks! Can’t seem to post pictures at this time for some reason?
  7. Very nice set up. I try to keep things simple. I don’t need room shaking bass anymore and I’m not a big fan of “one note wonders.” I like a big full range efficient tower. I’m leaning toward three way towers currently. I do need more critical listening time.
  8. I have them a tick under 8’ apart, 14” from the back wall, toed in and 8’ from the lazy boy. Had the iPod on random and the first track was “My Sharona” by The Knack. You know they were going to be “the next Beatles.” It was the kiss of death! Anyway, the drum intro was kickin’ and vocals dead center with great soundstage.
  9. Got up early, before the onslaught, to do some listening. One of my favorite test CD’s is Mark Knofler’s “One Take Radio Sessions.” Very well recoded with some nice and deep low end. The rest of the frequencies are well represented also. I got to hand it to Roy Delgado, he designed one hell of a series of speakers! The CF-3 reproduced the low end with authority and accuracy. To my ears, they went deeper than the KLF-30 which surprised me a bit. I assume better cabinet, drivers and maybe front porting had much to do with that. Don’t get me wrong, the 30’s hold their own just maybe missing half of the lower octave. Where the 30’s trump the CF-3 is in the high end and upper mid-range. Soundstage is close but, as mentioned many times, the CF-3 is best when seated in the Lazy-Boy. Just a brief impression of two fine speakers. I can see with a bit of upgrades, the KLF-30 can be a next level speaker. I just don’t think there is much than can be done with CF-3 save for maybe some crossover work? The amp used used is a restored Marantz 1060 cap-coupled integrated amp. A mere 30 watts a side of beautiful “tube like” sound! Not having the room for both big towers, one pair will have to go. Unfortunately, it may come down to cosmetics and the ability to do upgrades. Sadly, the CF-3’s are cosmetically challenged. They were that way when I brought them. The good news, the drivers are all original and work perfectly! Decisions, decisions........
  10. Hopefully I will be able to do some more critical listening next week. Got relatives coming this weekend for Fathers Day. So far, the difference between the two for sound quality is pretty even to me. In other words, I could live with either speaker. Kind of a cop out but I just haven't time to do a lot of listening.
  11. Thanks guys, I appreciate your input. I’m going to hold off on any “upgrades” for a bit. Although, I may get the ti tweeter diagrams from Bob. Never cared for the plastic ones. I am am enjoying the A/B gig with the CF-3’s. Completely different presentation of the music which interesting considering they are from the same company roughly built the same time.
  12. Well, I brought them home today! Haven’t had much of a chance to listen but, what I’ve heard, I am very impressed. Amp is a restored Marantz 1060 integrated. I will admit, I have panned this speaker in the past due to prior experience with them. That was about ten years ago and I still have visions of wood clamps and cleaning out copper pieces out of the tweeter magnet gap. I did like the sound once I got them fixed but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Looking forward to giving them a second chance. Here’s a picture of one next to a CF-3 v1.
  13. Checked them out along with the di-pole surrounds and matching center speakers. He’s also selling a big Denon AV receiver from that era as a package deal. I’m only interested in the KLF-30’s and made him an offer. Original owner, very nice condition with just some very minor issues. Black finish so flaws are easy to cover. Serial number says they are from mid-year 1998. Everything works and sounds great! Hopefully he will accept my offer.
  14. Thank you guys, I appreciate the info.!
  15. I am going to check out a pair of KLF-30’s today. Having had a pair about ten years ago that had glue problems, I was wondering if they all have that issue? Did Klipsch figure out they had some glue during the manufacture of these speakers and fix the problem? Or, did it not materialize until after that line was dropped?
  16. Thank you for the information. Lots of cosmetic work ahead for them but sound wise, awesome!
  17. He gave me a seven day warranty so I figured, what the heck? Just some short lengths of speaker wire as jumpers and, wow! I haven’t had much chance to listen but I don’t hear any issues with the drivers. My little Marantz 1060 seems to drive them very well. Lots more listening tomorrow.
  18. https://redding.craigslist.org/ele/d/klipsch-vintage-epic-series-2/6588662980.html I did look at these speakers about two weeks ago then left on vacation. In between the fun and the sun, guess what was on my mind? They have the six inch ports, are clearly CF-3's, and need some work. They are in a furniture warehouse type business. The only thing audio in there are these speakers. The grills, at least one, needs to be replaced. The footers and the "stinking" badges are missing. Oh, the binding post jumpers are missing as well. Cabinets have many scratches and a few gouges but, with some work, could probably made to look very presentable. I spoke to the only employee who was virtually no help as to working condition, any kind of discount etc. The woofers looked to be original and in good shape. I am very much on the fence to pursue them further as I have a lot of "irons in the fire" currently. If there is a very interested member that would like me to check them further, I could probably be talked into to doing so, even out of morbid curiosity if nothing else? Let me know, thanks.

    Muhammad Ali

Ali was a much smarter fighter than Tyson and faster. If Ali could have stayed away and pummeled him with jabs, I think Ali would have worn him down. However, if Tyson would have caught him with that big left upper cut or overhand right? I would have paid very good money to see that fight!

All politics aside, he was loved and respected by millions. I don't think anyone can argue that he was one of the greatest to ever enter the squared circle! Condolences to his family and friends.
